Nearly four weeks since the start of the PowerSchool data breach began families, teachers and school districts remain in the dark about the scope of the breach compromising personal information uploaded on the platform.

PowerSchool, a cloud-based platform that tens of thousands of schools use all over the country, has been the official student information system (SIS) since 2009 in South Carolina and 2013 in North Carolina.

FYI for Freepers in the Carolinas who teach and/or have children that have been in the Carolina's public education system within the past 15 years.

My sister-in-law teaches near Charlotte, North Carolina and Facebooked my wife earlier today about a major hacking incident of the North and South Carolina electronic gradebook involving what appears to be personal data of the majority of students and teachers in the Carolinas going back about 15 years.

She said she learned about this from a neighbor, not her school, or school system.

Lock one’s account with the major credit agencies. I know Transunion will also lock Equifax. In my experience, it was necessary to lock Experian independently. I believe this is a free process. Perhaps there’s a way to lock all 3 from a single provider.

Even with adamant denials from the beginning, Social Security numbers were ALWAYS going to be national personal identification.

Some of our local schools (NEPA) sent out notices of a Powerschool breach, but that they use student numbers instead of SSNs. Didn’t mention anything about staff.

Except that the breach appears to be nationwide in scope.

Student SSNs were probably the target and many Freepers cannot afford Home/Private schooling for their children and grandchildren.

Just like the same crowd's children promised their demands for abortion were only for the 1st trimester.

100% Satanic from the outset,
The evil sodomites MUST force child recruiting because otherwise THEY WILL GO EXTINCT.

I remember way back when there was a bug that allowed downloading the entire data file with a specially crafted URL. Good times.
