The Los Angeles wildfires have laid bare the staggering incompetence of government officials at every level, from state leaders to local authorities. For the past week, we’ve been exposing the gross mismanagement and corruption that not only created but worsened this crisis. The revelations keep coming, each one highlighting new ways in which officials failed to safeguard the lives and property of the people who trusted them to act responsibly.
The latest bombshell comes from the Los Angeles Times, which reveals that despite warnings of critical fire weather, the LAFD prioritized other regions like the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood, leaving the Palisades ill-prepared for the looming disaster.
As the Los Angeles Fire Department faced extraordinary warnings of life-threatening winds, top commanders decided not to assign for emergency deployment roughly 1,000 available firefighters and dozens of water-carrying engines in advance of the fire that destroyed much of the Pacific Palisades and continues to burn, interviews and internal LAFD records show.
Fire officials chose not to order the firefighters to remain on duty for a second shift last Tuesday as the winds were building — which would have doubled the personnel on hand — and staffed just five of more than 40 engines that are available to aid in battling wildfires, according to the records obtained by The Times, as well as interviews with LAFD officials and former chiefs with knowledge of city operations.

I would make a broad comment about where our society is at the moment —
DEI is a big contributor to this problem, but it is by no means the whole problem. What I see is that the people “at the top” in all kinds of industries, everywhere I look, just don’t know how things work. People in charge haven’t worked in the trenches, haven’t moved their way up the ladder within a specific field. They do not know the “Ins and Outs”.
The head of the Airline used to be the head of a Tech company a few years ago, and before that, he was the head of a Brewery. Does he know Airlines? Tech? Beer? No. Doesn’t have to — he’s a wiz with spreadsheets and he’s friends with people on the board, so he gets to run everything.
The Los Angeles Fire Dept is just a small aspect of this wider problem — the people at the top have no idea how to run their organization. On the political level, the US has (theoretically) be run for 4 years by Biden and Harris. Do they know anything about anything? Certainly not. They have no accomplishments in their long careers — but, hey, somehow they are in charge of everything.
Back in the day, I saw pilot after pilot doing incredible things with both choppers and fixed-wing aircraft. I’m seeing stuff like that again. Balls of steel is all I can say.
I don’t know about you, but the $770 Biden is giving to 6000 residents in CA kinda pales in my eyes when I look at the billions that clown has given to Ukraine. But then, he probably doesn’t get a kickback on the money sent to the CA fire victims. What a sad excuse for a President.

Just wait until the same thing but multiplied by 1000 Afghanistans and Iraqs happens HERE. This is the tip of the Iceberg since the gubmint has to cause the problems in order to be the solution and ultimately, the savior.
Everyone that you know (99.99%) will be begging the same gubmint to save them. They will be trying to break into the FEMA camps.

Appreciate the post but for myself, I will not discuss anything about the democrat’s fires except in the context that it was PLANNED AND EXECUTED FROM THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT TO THE LOWEST.

The $770 isn’t the only aid people will be given. It is a one time immediately available payment for emergency needs like water and diapers. Then there is a review and approval process to get more substantial aid from FEMA for assistance in rebuilding or relocating.

I thought FEMA is out of relief funds because they’ve spent it all on housing/food/care for illegal immigrants. That was part of the testimony in Congressional hearings.
They are not out of funds, FEMA says they’ve already received 24,000 applications for assistance, and aid for immigrants is a different line item and does not affect the amount available for disaster relief.
I’m struggling to figure out how this is Trump’s fault.
