Blinken on if There Should Be Harsher Consequences for China’s Hacking: We’re Trying ‘to Stay Ahead of’ Hacking

During an interview with MSNBC aired on Monday’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken responded to a question on whether there should be more consequences for China over its cyberhacking by stating that we’re trying “to stay ahead of it, both in terms of our defenses, both in terms of taking action, as necessary, against China, making sure that others are doing the same thing, other countries, working from the same page.”

Blinken stated, “[W]hat we’ve done over these past years is to shore up our defenses everywhere, including right here at this department, to do everything possible to detect and uncover these efforts as necessary, to go out, to sanction Chinese entities that are involved in it and others who do it.”

The consequences of China hacking our infrastructure should be we hack their infrastructure, financial system and whatever we can get into to cause them to worry.

Putting tariffs on their goods might also be part of Trump’s strategy to get China to behave differently.

They are not going stop just because we ask them to.

My bank might text me if it gets a questionable debit charge with say one of 20 numbers from my current bank statement and one of 20 from my previous bank statement.

If I don’t text back one of the two and its alphanumeric match, the transaction should fail.

Nope. The USG has never come to infrastructure operators with new vulnerability fixes or security packages. They are no help. They have pushed mandates down (all of them “duh”), and reporting requirements.

All the tech churn here is from the private sector.

Perhaps cut all foreign links to the main US banking system.

If I want banking services in say Italy, I could open a Delta international banking account after I’ve bought my ticket.

Only a few dozen private international banking systems would have to be secured. They would be connected to SWIFT, the main US banking system would not be.

Chinese communism i.e., China, is our enemy. PERIOD! It’s past time that we start treating them accordingly.

I believe Blinken has enough talent to be a great dog catcher in a small out of the way community in the US ... well maybe he does.

I had lunch a couple weeks ago and he talked about how there’s a ratio of 30:1 on the Chinese side for this type of sabotage.

Doctor Busy is running about 15 minutes behind.

Let me go over to the financial computer. Could I have your health insurance card please.

Mr. Griffin, you owe us a $37 Medicare co-pay on your 11/30/24 2:15pm visit.

[Dr. Busy at medical computer]
Could I have your birthdate please?

And your mother’s birthdate too!

I see that you are a very sick man indeed, Mr. Griffin.

Let’s us see what we can do about that.

[medical computer physical output]

ICD-10 ...
AMA billing codes ...... ......

The ICD-10 and AMA billing codes would be deleted after insurer payment.

I am sure China is always a hackin’.....but odd that we are all hearing about this now from people like Wray and Blinken.

Knowing the RATs and the Deep State, they will be the ones hacking and causing chaos for Trump and they are laying the groundwork to blame it on China. Because why not? If they knew this, why did they not do anything about it during the Biden regime?

“See, we told ya”. Despicable people.

shore up our defenses

BS.

If that were true, we wouldn't have back doors in all our systems, commercial and private, for the government to slip in and spy on us domestically.

I would expect that adversarial governments and criminals strive to take advantage of those very weaknesses.
