After suffering alarming spikes in violent crime, some cities are now reporting better news. Washington, D.C., is reporting a 35% decrease in violent crime for 2024. That’s after a 39% increase in crime in 2023 and the most murders in 25 years.
But how likely are we to get at the truth when it comes to crime statistics?
Questions were raised about possible manipulation of the number when the FBI released its annual crime data in 2023, going into the election year. The statistics showed a 2.1% decrease in violent crime in 2022 under the Biden administration.
To many, the good news seemed to fly in the face of the reality visible on the ground. But this past fall when then GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump raised the issue in his debate against Democrat rival Vice President Kamala Harris, a moderator un-skeptically declared the FBI stats to be the final word.

I would say, if the crime is not being addressed and prosecuted, why bother to report it?

If the FBI has the date and time on its official website, I'd have to double check it.
Time will tell if some of the celebrities living in Malibu are going to take the red pill.
They have seen a complete failure in government due to the Democrats being in charge.
The Democrats are in power of all levels of government, local, state and federal.
Can't blame Trump on this because he's been out of power for four years.
Most of them will remain in denial and they will blame "Climate Change" for the fires in Los Angeles.
But one or two DNC Donors will wake up. And realize what's going on.
FWIW, no Zuckerbucks were used to finance Harris' campaign in 2024.
And that had a huge impact.
Statistics are dangerous without a deep understanding of the methodology and possible flaws.
That is one (of many) reasons why central planning leads to insane failures.
Manipulation of data is a far different enterprise than detailed analysis of the data.
