FIRST ON FOX: A New York Court assigned a new judge to preside over the civil fraud case against President-elect Trump brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, seemingly replacing Judge Arthur Engoron, but hours later, the court put him back on the case, sources close to Trump's legal team told Fox News Digital.
The case and the trial were handled by Judge Arthur Engoron, who was accused by Trump allies of acting with bias against the president-elect, his family and his company.
Sources familiar told Fox News Digital the court sent out an automated email at around 12:45pm on Thursday, notifying the parties that it had assigned New York County Supreme Court Justice Judith McMahon of Staten Island to the case.
But several hours later, at 4:12pm, attorneys on the case received another automated message from the court system notifying them that Judge Arthur Engoron was assigned back to the case.
A source close to Trump's legal team told Fox News Digital that they are concerned with the back-and-forth.

Then later the NY Courts reversed the removal of Engoron from the case.

Is this the case where James claims that Trump fraudulently over-valued his property to secure loans? As I recall, Trump paid back the loans in full, on time, and none of the banks involved claimed fraud or suffered any losses. Another POS case brought by a POS Democrat.
Wait a minute? Wasn’t this already decided and he was ordered to pay a billion dollars, which was later changed to 322 million?
I thought he was appealing the verdict to a higher court?
Trump will appeal the judgement. That is what this is about.
The higher state court is in control of this now. It is still a mess. The entire proceedings are in fact outside of any legal precedent.
No one knows how far this will go (Supreme Court?).
The squealing by them and their Gaslight Media will be epic.
hot potato. I think no other judge wants it at this point. Let the judge who started it, navigate it the whole way and pay any price attached to it.

Yeah, it was on appeal, and I had lots f hope, as that was about due any minute. I have no clue what this tidbit today is all about???? It needs to be cleared up.

I think this was the case where the appeals judges asked the prosecutors why they shouldn’t be disbarred for such obvious political targeting. Maybe Engoran was trying to get out of the same questions.
In general in the court system you get to keep the judge who brought you to the dance. The theory is he’s seen all the evidence, so it’s a high bar to remove a judge, especially from a court case this advanced.
Yeah. Engoran was expecting to be feted and plucked out of his ordinary life for the magical land of Federal mammary access. But then Trump won and now he has to worry about ducks being in a row and not in the fun shooting gallery kind of way.
I wonder if Engoran tried to be removed because of what he knew Laura Loomer knew...
I took Engoron to mean that he knew as much about the Fox report as she did - namely nothing at all.
