Do you carry a gun?
Bad idea, says Hollywood. Civilians with guns are fools. You are more likely to hurt yourself than the bad guy.
“Leave it to a good guy with a gun to really screw things up,” says a cop on ABC’s “The Rookie.”
Liberal politicians agree.
“A good guy with a gun will stop bad guys with a gun?! It doesn’t hold up,” smiles New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.
“An adolescent rescue fantasy,” adds an “expert” on CBS.
Now, I’m not a gun person. I was raised among lefty gun haters. I assumed Hollywood and “experts” were right.
When I saw economist John Lott’s book, “More Guns, Less Crime,” I rolled my eyes. But now I understand that Lott makes a good point.
“A couple million times a year, people use guns defensively,” he says in my new video. “When a civilian tries to stop one of these instances, they’re overwhelmingly successful.”
But FBI reports say self-defense with guns is rare.
“They’re simply missing a huge number of cases,” says Lott. He’s posted a list of cases the FBI ignored, where civilians stopped shooters.
The FBI lists the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. Forty-nine people were killed.
“One week afterwards,” says Lott, “there was a similar attack at a nightclub in South Carolina.”
But there, a civilian shot the attacker.
“Still had 125 rounds of ammunition on him when he was stopped!” says Lott.
Somehow, the FBI missed that case, along with so many others.
When 17 people were killed at Parkland, Florida, that got lots of news coverage.
Few people know that “just a few months later in Titusville, Florida, (at) an elementary school,” says Lott, “a man came up, started firing his gun. Fortunately, a hot dog vendor (with a) concealed handgun was able to wound the attacker and stop him before he was able to kill.”

You do know that TV shows aren’t real, don’t you?
People sit around a table and make up these stories.
Am still cursing that boat.
That’s why I carry two....
TV shows are not real. You know it, I know it, most people know it.
TV shows make good propaganda because most people believe when something is considered a “fact” on even a fiction TV show, by a fictional expert, it is true.
I have had many people talk to me and use events in movies and on TV as support for their view of reality.
The value of a brandished gun is underrated & rarely reported as the person doing the brandishing doesn’t want to contact the police lest they become the “criminal.”
Stupidity and ignorance are contagious diseases. Many are infected.
Exactly correct. In Arizona the conduct is protected as a “defensive display” of a weapon.
Defensive displays are probably 20-50 times more common than a defensive shooting.
The anti-Second Amendment types brag about how they have influence over hollywood movie and TV scripts.
I can hardly wait for all the illegal aliens in California to start attacking those rich celebs and listen to their pleas for “Someone with a gun to come and save us”. Just like them carping about how the Democratic Government has failed to protect us from wildfires.
In Los Angeles they have signs and billboards telling people to Hide in their closets and call 911;
At my house in Arizona they tell you to SHOOT THEM DEAD then call 911 and have lunch with the Sheriff for a job well done
‘Defensive Display’
Good to know!
Arizona laws aren’t readily available I’ve been told-——they insist on a CCP Class.
.
When I get my USCCA and NRA magazines, I always flip to the page with stories of self defense shootings to see what the circumstances are. If anything, people who carry are the opposite the bumbling stereotype. They are careful and restrained until they can’t be anymore.

Hollywood is exhaustingly hypocritical.
“Guns are bad! They are terrible things! And by the way, please go see our latest movie. It’s filled with exciting action scenes of people shooting each other.”
Far too many, I’d say.
And the great thing is? Just the presence of a gun is enough to diffuse almost all situations without ever having to fire a round! It’s a damnable lie that guns make a person more vulnerable to violence or accidents! Yes, it will increase the likelihood SLIGHTLY, just as owning a knife might, or a drill, or a hammer, or a car or or or. But, far more crimes are thwarted by the mere presence of guns than are people who accidently shoot themselves or have their guns stolen and used on them! FAR more!
Bad idea. You are more likely to spread the fire than extinguish it. You should call 911 and wait for the fire department to arrive with empty trucks and hydrants.
If we can't be self-sufficient, neither should you.
Because my neighbors have Amendment II rights, I greatly gain safety at no cost and little risk to myself.
Think of Amendment II as providing a cop in every third house.
Gun control advocates should disarm non-IDF persons in Gaza.
Since US citizens are being held as hostages in Gaza, Congress could make Kamala Harris a Gun Control General and send her off with Private Hunter Biden to round up the guns of Gaza. Would anyone care to enlist in her campaign? David Hogg?
