An unhinged tourist from Chile beat a man to death with a fire extinguisher — all because the victim tried to calm him down as he was getting kicked out of a Florida motel, officials said.
Piero Estefano But-Castillo, 25, fatally stomped and pounded Robert Krusinowski, 55, at a Quality Inn in Kissimmee, Florida on Wednesday, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
But-Castillo had just arrived in the United States on a 90-day tourist visa from Chile on Jan.1, Fox35 reported.
The alleged maniac flew off the handle when he was told that he would be evicted from the motel — and the victim was attempting to curb his rage.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene to find But-Castillo stomping on the already severely beaten older man.
Krusinowski was known around the motel as a longtime resident who would help motel staffers with maintenance tasks, Fox35 reported.
The victim suffered severe head trauma and died at the scene.
“These savage attacks aren’t going to go unpunished here,” Sheriff Lopez said at the press conference.
But-Castillo is being held without bond and faces charges including premeditated murder, resisting an officer with violence, battery, and criminal mischief

Maybe an outsider should not try to de-escalate and just call the cops. They will be there in 15 minutes.

In Britain he’d probably get 10 years for manslaughter, out in 5. Probably wouldn’t even get deported afterwards if he claimed asylum.
I’m of the opinion that assaulting good Samaritans and those who intervene should be treated as harshly as those who assault police officers.
It might change the culture because intervening is a lose-lose situation where if you lose, you end up in hospital/the morgue, and if you win you end up in jail.
Not sure that applies to Florida though. Florida man is sensible, despite the stereotype.
How many people on this thread could even afford a 3-month vacation in another country, let alone want to do something like that.
On a 90-day tourist visa? A 25-year-old guy with poor impulse control? He's not a rich tourist taking a 3 month vacation in the States. He's an illegal immigrant hired by the hotel to do work for low wages.
I’m so tired of hot-headed minority types, especially when they’ve made their way in as criminals and psychopaths. Instead of demonstrating how they want to be good Americans, they reciprocate by being the worst of humans.
