The main fires in the Los Angeles area that broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood Tuesday are zero percent contained at the time of this writing, according to the latest update from CalFire.
The 2:30 p.m. ET update from CalFire showed five main blazes raging in the area — the Eaton Fire, expanding 10,600 acres; the Palisades fire, affecting 2,925 acres; the Hurst fire, affecting 700 acres; the Woodley Fire, affecting 30 acres; and now the Olivas fire, affecting 11 acres.
The Tyler fire, which was on the list earlier, has been updated showing 100 percent containment.

They’ll blame it on Climate Change, and Trump.
why not just blame the electric company?
It seems to be that California has wild fires every year and places like Florida have hurricanes every year. I would think that the people in these areas would be somewhat prepared and do everything they can to protect buildings in advance.
Otherwise it seems like a crapshoot.
California reminds me of my drug-addict cousin in his youth: “f*** you and your uptight bullish**, I’m gonna live my life however I want to live it.”
He’s dead now.
Alright! Listen up because I’m only going to say this one time. Clear the F-ing brush!
PG&E’s fault
This maybe in part enemy arson already. Perfect timing for an all out attack with arson. If the USA is set on fire, there might be an attempt to delay inauguration.
kTLA for live coverage.
They didn’t bother to maintain the water needed for fire hydrants.
They couldn’t do anything.
I can tell you’ve never been to that region...Listen up.
Millions of acres of hills/mountains and the brush grow like weeds every year. You’d need a million people cutting brush around the clock in steep terrain. That’s never going to happen...
And when the devil winds pick up the fire can jump way over any firebreaks....In winds like this firebreaks are all but useless.
Reporters on the scene are saying sparks can be carried as far as a mile by these winds, starting new fires far from the existing one.
With the insurance payout they can leave the US.
So how well are these fires being contained at this point?

The Eaton fire (Altadena/Pasadena) has blown up to over 10,600 acres... 0% contained.
Wind speed recorded at 99 mph on local ridgeline.
2 fatalities.
Winds to decrease as night falls.
Next high wind/red flag warning - weather system, due in Friday.
The embers. I’m hearing two miles.
The wins are 80-100 mph and not weakening as they hoped.
I lived in California. The densely populated areas of those canyons have 1 acre or less lot sizes for the most part. There are larger tracts of land up higher but those fire appear to have started down low due to human interaction where the population density is the highest. If you can build a house on every acre, you can cut the brush.
Californian logic.
