PJM is the independent, federally regulated organization that has helped maintain reliable electrical service at competitive costs for Pennsylvanians for nearly 100 years. PJM doesn’t operate with a profit motive – our primary mission is to operate as the “air traffic controller” for the high voltage power system to keep electricity flowing to 13 states and the District of Columbia.
We have been warning for over two years of the prospect that parts of our country could run short of power during high demand periods. This possibility has been growing, primarily as a result of state and federal policy decisions that are pushing generators to retire prematurely, and also due to unprecedented and rapidly growing data center construction. This risk is not limited to the grid managed by PJM. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation recently found that large areas of our country face this prospect.
PJM shares the concern about rising prices caused by this supply-demand imbalance, and we’ve taken multiple steps to mitigate it...

The grid operator, who the complaint is against, says they are getting what they asked for thanks to our suicidal green energy rules.
Here's a link to the FERC complaint filed by PA:
Unusually accurate and hard-hitting press release/formal statement by ANY industry or board.
Able to happen now ONLY because Trump is coming in as president.
Shapiro the DNC stooge can sit down and shut up.
He’s just worried about the next PA election.
I hate new acronyms I have to learn.
PJM Statement on FERC-FRANG Spec NOX meter STPV core program for HERP.
Funny they don't mention the dirt W & S words -- Wind and Solar.
If you prematurely retire "dispatchable" generators (you can call on they any time for more or less power output) and replace it with "nondispatchable" power (wind and solar) you are asking for big trouble. Not only power shortages, but an unstable and hard to regulate grid with poor power quality.
The article says PJM started warning about it just two years ago, but the power industry has known this for 20 years. Nobody in the power business dared say "The Emperor has no clothes" for fear of government retribution.
For a number of years now, work has been proceeding in order to bring perfection to the crudely conceived idea of a transmission that would not only supply inverse reactive current for use in unilateral phase detractors, but would also be capable of automatically synchronizing cardinal grammeters. Such an instrument is the turbo encabulator. At least there are no acronyms in the turboencabulator discussion, so it's a lot easier to understand. Now basically the only new principle involved is that, instead of power being generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes, it is produced by the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance.
The original machine had a base plate of pre-famulated amulite surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two spurving bearings were in a direct line with the panametric fan. The latter consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzlevanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented.
The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-boloid slots of the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdle spring on the “up” end of the grammeters.
The turbo-encabulator has now reached a high level of development, and it’s being successfully used in the operation of novertrunnions. Moreover, whenever a forescent skor motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciprocation dingle arm, to reduce sinusoidal repleneration.”
😂
This is what you get when politicians set policies for parts of the economy that they don’t know sh!t about. Of course when things go bad they attack those trying to adhere to the Ill-conceived policies. I worked 35 years in the electric utility industry and knew this was coming at least 10 years ago.

I was in the power industry 1973 - 2000 and I worked with lots of US and international utility executives. I saw first-hand that utility boards would not push back against any extreme environmental agenda — they caved in time and time again. Decisions were no longer made by execs who started as engineers and rose through the ranks. Decisions were now made by know-nothing execs who were lawyers, ex-environmental organization people, or ex-politicians. It was sickening to watch the industry go through that transformation and turmoil. I finally threw in the towel and left the industry. We all knew this was coming, but most people kept their mouths shut to keep their jobs.
PJM is a not for profit energy controller for 13 states to bring the lowest prices possible. FERC is the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Thanks.
I think.
Now that is funny. 🤣
That states they srve are Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
Thus, perhaps the first three states they initially created the company for were Pa. N.J. & Md.? Just another wild guess though. 🙂👍
Good point.
(My error - I too had to look up those - But I didn’t add the insta-jargon translator phase mode “on” when invoking the Ctrl-Copy command. )
Just one organization that is shouting into the wilderness that is leftist moon-battery. They’ve been forcing the shut down of solid base load units and promoting unreliable “renewable” power for far too long. The people with knowledge have been silenced for too long and the nation is going to reap the whirlwind. Enjoy your blackouts and brownouts folks.
Spot on. Weak men have allowed weaker and therefore more dangerous men to destroy things.
