A Cybertruck randomly explodes in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas? The explosion appears to show fireworks exploding.
Was this some sort of message to @elonmusk and @realDonaldTrump?

That explosion had fireworks in it. It was a pure terrorist attack.
I guess the first couple of questions are was anyone in the truck and who owned it.

One needs to know how long EV was parked there. Tesla cloud is likely to have battery parameters leading up to the blow-up time. There would be many electrical flags warning if this was a lithium failing condition.

I have a dumb question. Can the battery in an EV be caused to malfunction, and if so what does that mean for vehicle screening at checkpoints?

Not necessarily. Tesla batteries are composed of a scad of smaller cells. It is not unlikely that a chain reaction in the battery pack could produce the sound of a string of fireworks.
You may be right. Whatever was behind the explosion it was quite a pyrotechnic display. We'll have to wait until more time passes and facts leak out. I'm pretty sure that Kekius is hoping it was a terrorist attack because if it was a defective battery it will hit the Tesla stock hard.
If this was just a random event the Cyber Truck and Trump resort are a pretty big coincidence one would think. Not saying it is impossible just that it does raise a Spockian eyebrow.
This event will be stonewalled like everything else. By the time any information is released everyone forgets about it.
Whatever it was that flashed off WASN’T HE (high explosive). Li, black powder (fireworks) or what. I’m now leaning to the latter since the FD got the fire out so quick.
