Science has always been used by those in power to crush their enemies.
The author is a bit slow to catch on.....

I dare you to look at the “Consanguinity Map” image in google.
You cannot unsee this.
You will understand the world better after you see it.

Guess it's better than marrying your brother.

I handled the export marketing for a manufacturer of products used in the care and rehabilitation of special needs children. Children with some to profound genetic deformities and developmental issues. Three guesses the countries and cultures (religion) that statistically offered our best potential markets.
We joke about what goes on back in the hollers of Appalachia. But when you've got a billion or so people practicing incest across a dozen time zones, and intruding into all the others with the attitude of conquerors, it's more than a joke.

FTA: "I’ve spent my life fighting the bigotry of the hard right. But I now believe the soft bigotry of the left is more insidious."
Typical neo nazi White supremacist types are honest about their prejudices. Otherwise the extreme left and right are two sides of the same coin

I always thought it ironic and funny that liberals make fun of Southerners as people who have sex with their cousins, all the while their men hump men, they marry their siblings, and they all have no problem humping animals.

I expected the Amish areas of the US to come down differently; but I guess it has to do with what degree is meant by ‘consanguinity’.
The NIH National Library of Medicine cites a paper on this:
“The actual reasons given for the preference of consanguineous marriages are primarily social. In communities with high consanguinity rates, sociological studies indicate that consanguineous marriage could enforce the couples’ stability due to higher compatibility between husband and wife who share the same social relationships after marriage as before marriage, as well as the compatibility between the couple and other family members.”
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3419292/
These, including social class itself, were pretty much the same reasons why cousin marriage took place sometimes in Early and Colonial America. (I’m probably a product of a couple of cousin marriages in Virginia in the early days.)
