Something’s going on in the great state of Texas. For a deep-red state, it sure pumps out some questionable Republicans. Establishment shills like Dan Crenshaw and John Cornyn come to mind. These two aren’t just off the America First train—they’ve got more in common with the left than they do with President Trump or his movement.
And now, there’s another oddball Texas politician to add to the list: Chip Roy. He’s a trickier one to spot. Thanks to his bluster and fiery rants—much like Trey Gowdy back in the day—Roy can fool people into thinking he’s one of the good guys. But make no mistake, Chip Roy is no fan of President Trump. He’s opposed Trump every step of the way, and in the 2024 primary, he threw his support behind Ron DeSantis.
Oh, and let’s not forget just how “woke” Chip Roy is. All you have to do is look at how he fawned over career criminal and drug addict George Floyd.
Chip Roy @chiproytx · Follow Thank you, Professor, for sharing this. This terrible trajedy should never have occurred. I am so thankful to know Mr. Floyd is with our Heavenly Father and that others will be too because of his life and work. 8:56 AM · May 29, 2020
Roy is also a big fan of Liz Cheney and a believer that J6 was not a “fedsurrection.” Roy also supported the (failed) hit job against America First warrior Ken Paxton.

He’s every bit a stain on the state of Texas that eyepatch McCain is.
Big Business Chamber of Commerce Corporate CEO front man Chip Roy...at least those are some ways to put it.
your observation might be correct. But this is all fake news with an agenda. Nothing direct to trump of Roy.
Lets not fall for the fake news, keep our eyes on the ball. let it play out before we get excited.
Ugh, that's enough for me right thee.
Plus, he voted to certify the 2020 stolen election, and Trump’s impeachment.
Supporting DeSantis might not be the “tell”, attacking Paxton definitely is.
He has to go. No more of this stuff. Somrone must start pointing out who fhe big donors are to these types of legiskators, both Democrats and Republicans. The conservatives fighting this stuff simply do not know how to do it. They need to hire me.

He was Ted Cruz’ Chief of Staff when he was running for Pres. in 2016. Like many of the Cruzlims, they despise Trump. I know many of them and they only support Trump because there is no one else after DeSantis flamed out. Most of the Texas anti Trump group were DeSantis supporters.
Seems TN Marsha Blackburn and Bill Haggerty did too, I was right.
He’s gotta go. We’re done with two-faced backstabbers.
Oh, they sure did. I’ve had an email pissing match with Blackburn since 1/7/21. All I’ve asked each time was that she’d explain why she did it AND apologize. It never happened.
Chip Roy has a lifetime score of 96.45% from Turning Point USA, pretty darn good. He’s got a lifetime score of 97% from Heritage Action For America.
I was familiar with him but was fooled that he had a good side.
Information/discussion on X opened my eyes about him. (There is a very strong Texas contingent.)
This article is very good to know, useful for sharing with others who think he is OK.
Sigh...
Attacking Paxton is a FATAL flaw.
Chip has been called out before, but he does have a sizable fanboy club here on FR. Expect them to show up soon.
I encourage everyone to watch this clip of Chip Roy during the second impeachment deliberations. He basically said Trump engaged in impeachable conduct by trying to pressure Mike Pence into not certifying the election. But then, to cover his ass, he voting against impeachment because he “disagreed” with its wording.

And yet he is still a MAGA pretender and a NeverTrumper.
Not because I say so, but based solely on his choices and actions.
