Victor Davis Hanson: Fixing the Biden Border
American Greatness ^ | 23 Dec, 2024 | Victor Davis Hanson

President Biden’s border policies created a humanitarian, economic, and legal crisis that dismantled immigration enforcement and overwhelmed American communities.

Joe Biden, to the degree he was cognizant, has always reflected the Obama-era utopia dream of a borderless world, and thus millions of poor have illegally entered the United States. On numerous occasions, he offered clear warnings of what he would do if he ever had power over immigration policy.

Do we remember this 2020 Biden boast to let in millions and offer blanket amnesties?

“But I will send to the desk immediately a bill that requires the access to citizenship for 11 million undocumented folks, number one. Number two, in the first 100 days of my administration, no one, no one will be deported at all. From that point on, the only deportations that will take place are commissions of felonies in the United States of America.” In Biden’s world, if no illegal alien is ever to be deported unless a criminal, then there is at last no border.

Earlier Biden had also bragged, “We could afford to take in a heartbeat another two million. The idea that a country of 330 million people cannot absorb people who are in desperate need and who are justifiably fleeing oppression is absolutely bizarre.”

After 2020, we found out what Biden really meant was that a few thousand privileged and rich people in Martha’s Vineyard, Malibu, and Rehoboth, Delaware, certainly could not absorb even a few hundred in “desperate need”—but the millions of poor in inner-city Chicago, in the Rio Grande Valley, and the Central Valley of California most certainly could absorb “another two million” illegal aliens.

Most infamously, in 2019, Biden gave explicit outlines of the very open border that he has now institutionalized:

28 days from today and we are rid of: 1 - the Biden White House and his horrific staffers who have been running the greatest country on earth; 2 - Mayorkas, who by himself was the worst appointee ever; 3 - the FBI headed by Fat Christie’s corporate lawyer; 4 - much of the incredible corruption in the intel agencies; 5 - many grossly overpaid and coddled federal workers; 6 - payments by DoD for things like climate change that have nothing to do with their mission; 7 - secret channeling to far left groups of fines won by the Justice Dept. in federal civil suits. I could go on, but I have work to do this year.

But most cynically and importantly, half the new arrivals are not from the Latin American world and thus have smaller, if any, expatriate apologists or activists in the United States.

A salient point by the ever knowledgeable VDH. The left's open borders policy has become more than just a "We ♥ Hispanics" statement. It's truly a policy of replacing whites with anyone who'll come.

As a Christian and American and amateur historian, what I see is the complete removal of the Great Awakening from our culture. What Richard Dawkins meant when he said that he's a "cultural Christian", are character traits that are anathema to the control-freak political class.

The political class doesn't like people with individual relationships with God, living lives of virtue and honor. The so-called "enlightened" nobility know that they can better control people who either believe there are no virtues, or at least believe that their relationships with God depend on the higher class.

Need to stop calling it Biden’s border policies
Everbody knows that Obama has been calling the shots while Biden slept
Obama’s third term
Need to go to the Supreme Court to repeal EVERYTHING “Biden” has done because Obama was actually holding the reigns of power
All of the people around him have admitted he did not have any of his mental capacities.
Includes pardons and amnesties.
This presidency has been a sham, now exposed

Agreed. And if we’re honest, Bush had open borders ways too. Certainly not as much as Obama, then Biden. But the left in general keeps making it worse and worse over time.

It sure fueled the social justice agenda. Gave every rat governor and bourgeoise Karen something to wield against common sense normal people.

Self-serving Biden virtue signaled——infamously bragging,
<><>“We can afford to take in another two million.
<><>that our country cannot absorb people who are in desperate need
<><>who are fleeing oppression is absolutely bizarre.”

After 2020, we found out what Biden really meant was:
that the minuscule few thousand privileged and rich in Martha’s Vineyard, Malibu, and
back home in Rehoboth, Del, certainly could not absorb even a few hundred in “desperate need”

But the millions of poor in inner-city Chicago, in the Rio Grande Valley, and Central
Valley California most certainly could absorb “another two million” illegal aliens.

"The illegal invasion was always on purpose to bring in millions of poor democRAT voters."
Looking at Europe, the purpose was to destroy Western Culture, a culture based on the thinking and writings of the Enlightenment.

And America, too, I am afraid 😞

Looking back, I think it started in 1965 with the new Immigration and Nationality Act - around the same time when migration from North Africa and Turkey to Europe commenced. Around the same era, British employers were hiring Pakistani workers for textile factories in England…

Step one, identify the top ten crossing spots and close them.

One month later, close the next top ten.

Ping! Out to the Victor Davis Hanson list

A final note: those who destroyed the border and immigration law with it will be the first to decry the cost and trouble of undoing their damage—on their theory that because it costs much to arrest, detain, and try a criminal suspect, it is, therefore, cheaper and wiser simply to let him continue to commit crimes with impunity.

My personal opinion was somewhere there were powerful world elites being paid off by organized criminal cartels... and that the money filtered down to DC elites. I don't believe for a second this was some humanitarian move on Biden's part ever. Look at Biden's track record - he and his family and party always get their cut.

In addition to the wall, some remote control firepower needs to be added for enemy invaders who cross the wall.

Biden did NOT create the border crisis.

He ONLY compounded many times over.

History matters.

There has NEVER been any real resistance to open borders in the congressional caucus of the Republican wing of the Uniparty.

How much resistance exists in Trump’s second term depends on the support Trump gets for mass deportations, I’m hopeful, but I’m prepared to be disappointed as my lifelong experience with the Republican wing of the Uniparty has resulted in more disappointment than satisfaction.

The lack of this resistance greased the slippery slope that we now find ourselves on.

Revisit the 2016 Republican primary.

Trump REVEALED that the GOPe Senate was an open borders Senate.

Remember the so-called comprehensive immigration bill which was nothing more than blanket amnesty had passed the Senate with senators like Juan McCain and Goober Grahamnesty clearly in bed with Schumer.

In the 2016 primary Lyin’ Ted Cruz and Little Marco were trying to split hairs over their positions on a path to citizenship all the while Trump was winning support with his hard line position.

NEVER forget Lyin’ Ted who FAILED to reveal his dual citizenship to those who voted him into the Senate, went to the Southern border and handed out soccer balls and Teddy bears to the illegals along with his BFF, the Cheeto man and drama queen Glenda Beck.

NEVER forget Trump WON a mandate in 2016 to build a wall and China Mitch and Paul Ryan declared the wall was dead on arrival.

Tom Homan is out there laying groundwork for FIXING the problems from an open border.

Frankly when it comes to public support for Homan from the Republican congressional caucus, I’m hearing radio silence.

There is ONLY one party in America and Trump ain’t a member.

Trump is an America First nationalist and the Uniparty is purely one worldism globalists.

Sorry. He created it. It was a problem then it became a crisis.
