Russian deserters from Ukraine war burned alive at Vladimir Putin's 'torture jail'

Russian deserters from the Ukraine war were burned alive in Vladimir Putin's infamous "torture jail".

Five so-called 'refuseniks' were killed as a fire ripped through the army jail where they were being held in Yakutsk, the world’s coldest city. Reports suggest seven more were injured.

The fire broke out at around 2am with seven people admitted to hospital, officials said, although the Russian defence ministry has not said what caused the fire. The notorious facility has been the target of numerous allegations of torture after footage from the grim prison was leaked in May.

At the time of the blaze the air temperature in Yakutsk was a bone-chilling -36C. Among those being held at the detention centre were war-wounded soldiers who, after medical treatment, refused to go back to Putin's frontline in Ukraine.

I guess the jail wasn't high enough for them to be thrown through a window to their deaths.

Towards the end of WWII, many Soviet soldiers did not want to go home. I’m sure they received a similar welcome home.

Go rifgt ahead ultra-Klown, and cheer on your Putin maggot. The most evil man alive. Though with some worthy competition.
Thank God Israel demolished Iranian proxies, that Pukin was also funding.
There is speculation that Pukin is giving/trading nuke miniaturization technology to North Korea. That will make their nukes more deliverable on North Korean missiles.

Please list the links to where I ever did that in my entire posting history on FR or any other website. Thanks.

That'd be great.

1.0 out of 5 stars -—— A provocation to human intelligence
Amazon -- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2024

This piece essentially echoes official Russian talking points in regard to the war in Ukraine and its rationale behind the invasion. It argues that Russia had no choice but to invade Ukraine, because Ukraine, despite never formally applying to join NATO, was considered by Putin to be a threat to Russian security.

As a nuclear-armed state, Russia’s security was never in jeopardy, but it’s sphere of influence, historically advanced by force rather than appeal, was. The book also argues, just as the Kremlin does, that Russian speakers in Eastern Ukraine were being oppressed by the Ukrainian government, which justified Russia’s de facto invasion and takeover of the Donbas in 2014.

The notion that Russia has inherent jurisdiction over all Russian speakers - even those outside of its borders - has been continually parroted by the Kremlin since 2014 and is again pushed by Horton. The scale of this absurdity is akin to the United Kingdom pronouncing sovereignty over all English-speaking peoples.

Horton fails to take into account the Maidan Revolution’s intent, to overthrow despotic Russian puppet Yanukovich, whose policies stripped away Ukrainian civil rights and led to nationwide dissatisfaction with Russian interference. The revolution itself included hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, many of which were Russian speakers, which Horton conveniently ignores. Instead, he lazily conflates the genuine grassroots movement with a US-backed coup, which he props up with cherry-picked/out of context state department cables. He also conveniently fails to acknowledge that Russian puppet Yanukovich was not overthrown by a shadowy CIA coup but rather, was impeached by the Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian parliament).

This book is full of half-truths, lack of contextualization, and a disingenuous failure to acknowledge that sovereign Ukraine is more than just a chess piece of rising Russian imperialism.

The headline makes it sound like they were intentionally burned alive by the authorities, instead of as a result of a fire in the building.

As to whether that was intentional or not, who knows.

But dying in a fire as a form of execution is different from dying in a fire as a consequence. Not to the victims, of course. But the point is, dishonest reporting of the event. Just like a car drove into a Christmas market in Germany. Those dang self-driving cars.

Oh, wait a minute.......

It was a muslim, but no motive has yet been determined.

Despite this from Amir:

“The Christmas market attacker in Magdeburg Germany is a 50-year-old male doctor from Saudi Arabia with permanent residency in Germany, where he had lived for almost two decades.

“As things stand at the moment, we are talking about a lone offender, which means that there is no further danger to the city because we were able to arrest him.”

The motive was unclear. The suspect was not known to German authorities as an Islamist, according to local broadcaster MDR.

A Saudi source told Reuters the kingdom had warned German authorities about the attacker, who the source said had posted extremist views on his personal X account.

The source identified the suspect as Taleb Abdul Jawad.”

I’ve invited zeepers to do exactly that on several occasions. When they’re unable to do so, they just screech more insults and false accusations. They all pretty much screech the same ones.

Then they wonder why we don’t take them seriously.

“Russian deserters from Ukraine war burned alive at Vladimir Putin’s ‘torture jail’”

This headline leads one to believe that deserters were pusposely burned alive in one of Putin’s jails. The story states otherwise.

Many, many people read headlines only, regardless if it’s on the internet, a news paper or where ever else printed news is released. Even those that read past the headlines continue to believe the premise of the headline even though the story itself says otherwise.

My point is, based on the false headline, this whole story is propaganda. There is much name calling in this thread as with any other Uke related thread. Liars, cheats, deep staters, neocons and others perpetually use misstatements like this headline to further their anti-American agenda. I’m really sick of it.

Hey snek, I bet you wish you had your own "torture jail".

Have you threatened to kill any pro-America FReepers today or have you examined any pro-America FReeper's posts with your "malware" detecting beiber in hopes of having an unknowing mod remove their posts?

You're such a busy snek...

That reminds me of the Al Stewart song “The Roads to Moscow.” He read the history of the period for about four months before he penned the song.

There were those that did not want to return that did so under duress. Then there were those that wanted to return to their families that were not allowed to do so because of the paranoia of Stalin that permeated the Soviet ranks all the way down to the line units... It was truly messed up...

You truly are unhinged.

Please refrain from spreading your twisted, malware-infected memes and images on this board in general, and my threads in particular. I have no desire to catch an unpleasant virus from your deranged posts, and I'm sure nobody else wants to either.

Thank you very much.

I’m unhinged?

I’m not the person issuing death threats to FReepers who disagree with me,

nor am I the person posting nasty comments about the Robinsons, FR and other FReepers on The Briefing Room,

nor am I the person perusing the posts of pro-America FReepers and running to a mod to accuse them of having malware in their posts, hoping the mod will fall for your bs and pull the post.

It was proven to you yesterday that my posts aren’t infected with anything, facts you choose to ignore. My virus protection software company and my image host verified that my posts aren’t infected with malware.

So snek, I’ll post my stuff in whatever thread I see fit, until Jim (the person who receives the brunt of your criticism on TBR), tells me to stop.

You don’t own these boards, Jim does. You don’t own these threads, Jim does. You don’t own these posts, Jim does. You don’t own this site, Jim does.

And I’m sure that if Jim does turn his site over to you, he’ll let us all know.

Roasting people alive is a time-honored Soviet tradition:

On the screen there appears a high, gloomy room without windows, something between a factory workshop and a boiler house. In the foreground there is a furnace with fire-doors looking like the gates of a small castle, with grooves running into the furnace like rails into a tunnel. People in grey protective gowns are standing near the furnace. Boilermen. Then they showed a coffin. So this is a crematorium too. Probably the same one I have just been looking at out of the window. The men in gowns lift the coffin and place it on the guide rails. The fire doors open smoothly to each side, the coffin is given a gentle push and it bears its unknown occupant into the roaring flames. Then the camera gives a close-up of a living person. A face swimming in perspiration. It is probably very hot near the furnace. The face is displayed from all sides of what seems an eternity. At last the camera pulls back to show the person full length. He is not in a gown. He is dressed in an expensive black suit, terribly crumpled. His tie is tightly screwed round his neck. The man himself is bound fast with steel wire to a stretcher, and the stretcher has been propped up against the wall so that the man can see the furnace.

Next all the attendants suddenly turn their attention to the bound man. Their attention obviously gives him no pleasure. He lets out a scream. A terrible scream. There is no sound, but I can tell it is a scream that would make the windows rattle. Four of the attendants carefully lower the stretcher to the floor and then raise it again. The bound man makes an incredible effort to prevent this. The titanic strain is apparent in the expression on his face. A vein on his forehead stands out as though it is about to burst. But his effort to bite the hand of an attendant is in vain. His teeth only bite into his own lip, and a black trickle of blood begins to run down his chin. He certainly has sharp teeth. His body is firmly tied down, but it is wriggling about like that of a captured lizard. Submitting to an animal instinct, he begins to beat his head against the wooden handle of the stretcher and so assist his body. He is not fighting for his life, but for an easy death. His calculation is clear: to rock the stretcher over so as to fall with it off the guide rails and onto the concrete floor. This will mean either an easy death or loss of consciousness. You don’t fear even the flames if you are unconscious. But the attendants know their job. They simply hold on to the handles of the stretcher to stop it rocking. And the prisoner cannot get at their hands with his teeth even if he breaks his neck.

They say that at the last moment of his life a man can perform miracles. Prompted by the instinct of self-preservation, all his muscles, all his mental and psychological resources, all his determination to live are suddenly concentrated into one supreme physical effort to survive. The man is making that last effort. He strains his whole body to try to get free. He sits like a fox which, caught in a trap, bites and tears off its own bloody paw. Even the metal guide rails begin to shake. He strains to the point of breaking his own bones, and tearing his own tendons and muscles. It is a superhuman effort. But the wire does not give. And the stretcher slides smoothly along the rails. The furnace doors move aside again and the fire casts a white light on the soles of the man’s dirty patent leather shoes. He tries to bend his knees in an effort to increase the distance between his feet and the roaring fire. But he can’t. The cameraman then shows the man’s fingers in close-up. The wire has bitten deeply into them. But the tips of his fingers are free, and with them too he is trying to slow down the movement towards the fire. His fingertips are spread out and tensed. If they could only come up against something the man would certainly hold on.

Then suddenly the stretcher comes to a halt at the furnace itself. A new figure appears on the screen dressed in a gown like the other attendants and gives them a signal with his hand. The attendants obediently remove the stretcher from the guide rails and stand it again on its handles against the wall. What is wrong? Why the hold-up? It soon becomes clear. Another coffin is wheeled into the crematorium on a low trolley. It is already nailed down and very elegant, with a decorative fringe. It is the coffin of some highly esteemed person. Make way for it! The attendants lift it on to the guide rails and send it off on its last journey. Then there is an unbelievably long wait while it is consumed by the flames. At last it is the turn of the man bound to the stretcher, which is again placed on the rails. And once again I hear that silent scream which is probably enough to lift the furnace doors off their hinges. I study the man’s face in the hope of finding there signs of madness. It’s easier for madmen in this world. But there are no such signs on that handsome manly face. It is not distorted by the imprint of madness. It is simply that he doesn’t want to go into the furnace and is trying somehow to make that clear. But what can he do except scream? So he screams. Fortunately that scream is not recorded for posterity. Then his patent leather shoes go into the fire, and that is that. The fire flares up. Oxygen being pumped in, no doubt. The two attendants at the front jump away to the side, while the two at the end give the stretcher a good push into the depths of the furnace. The furnace doors close and the sound of the projector dies out.
