A new law goes into effect January 1st ostensibly to prohibit school libraries from “banning” books.
But the new law is not what you may think it is. Its sole purpose is not to protect your kids from pornographic library books, but to prevent the pornographic, library books from being banned by parents and school boards.

The paragraph you quoted has no relation to science whatsoever. It is simply a bunch of sociological gobbledygook that sociologists love because they apparently can’t think of any legitimate scientific pursuits within their field.
On the other hand, there is abundant evidence that Covid started infecting humans who processed for consumption animals that had been infected by bats. The scientists who did these investigations have a variety of different scientific disciplines and are only convinced by solid evidence.
