ANSWER: It won’t.
This is what you don't understand; Russia's war is with the West. Ukraine is simply the West's proxy. This is far bigger than simply grabbing a bit of Ukrainian territory. Russia is organizing for a prolonged clash of cultures and civilizations, and it won't be deterred by sporadic acts of terrorism. Most on this board don't understand the Russian psyche.
As Putin said the other day, this is a global confrontation which includes cultures, education, economy and technology. Translated, that means Russia has no use for American and Western wokeness nor the globohomo full court press. The reason we hate Russia is because it's the only Western nation where the ruling elites are not led around on a leash by the sodomites.
Most of the Western mischief in and around Russia, especially in Ukraine, over the past 3 decades, is aimed at turning Russia into a Slavic version of Canada; a woke, rainbow-friendly, resource-rich, lap dog of the godless, secular humanists in the West. Russia is having none of it and it won't back down.
Everything undertaken by the West and its Ukraine proxies at the moment, has just one objective; fomenting popular discontent with Putin, i.e. provoking a regime change in Russia and replacing Putin with a Slavic version of Justin Trudeau.
You're right. Militarily, this does nothing and has no bearing on what's happening on the battlefield but killing a Russian general outside his apartment in Moscow is meant to shove a thumb firmly into Putin's eye and show him to be incompetent. Rinse and repeat until there's a revolt against Putin. There's also the issue of trying to raise morale among Ukraine's beleaguered military which is currently being marched backwards on the frontline.

The impression I got was the explosive device was planted in a parked e-scooter and detonated as the general and his assistant passed by it, although I have not seen that clearly stated in any news article. I seriously doubt a Russian general is riding around Moscow on an e-scooter.
Again, there is zero evidence Putin wants all of Ukraine. He only wants the Russian speaking oblasts in the east. But if you are determined to believe he is fool enough to want all of Ukraine, nothing will dissuade you. We’ll have to politely agree to disagree on that point.
