"Today, as a result of a storm in the Black Sea, two tankers, Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239, sank," Russia's federal sea and inland water transport agency, Rosmorrechflot, wrote in a statement.

Even our God is now turning against the Kremlinists.
While I never assume that any particular report is accurate from this area any more, I pray for the crews, that any survivors are rescued and that God keep any that didn’t survive.
My thought too. Pray they are safe.

The Black Sea will be a little blacker now.
That’s going to leave a slick, oily mark.
As any real Mariner knows, these incidents are entirely in the Hands of The Lord.
I Pray for the safety of all Mariners, and I am grateful for the sustenance they bring to all.
I figured someone would blame HAARP. ;-)
Seriously, though, I’m a bit surprised no ships have suffered this fate going around South Africa, during its last winter.

4000 tons will probably disperse/emulsify in that storm quickly. You might catch a residual patch when the weather clears from leakage out of the submerged ship.
Prayers for those who go down to the sea in ships.
The sea is very impartial when it comes to killing people.

Black Sea gale. The best place for a sailor in one of those is in a bar safe ashore.
Not really. But I’ll admit “the water” and its stories, good and bad, have always held my interest. “The water” can provide food and drink, a way of transport, a way of recreation, beauty, and... It wants to kill you.
In any event, this item seemed like a pretty straightforward report to me. Unusual circumstance, though, with 2 large ships going down in close proximity in a storm, regardless of nationality.
Has anyone seen follow-up on this incident?

Well, it could just be bad welding...
