Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell fell over during a Senate lunch on Tuesday.
McConnell, 82, is the outgoing leader of the Senate Republicans and has been battling a string of health issues over the last few years including multiple falls.
Medical staff with a wheelchair were called in to assist after the senator fell during the lunch and sprained his wrist. He also has a cut on his face according to a witness in the room.
Leader McConnell tripped following lunch He sustained a minor cut to the face and sprained his wrist. He has been cleared to resume his schedule,' his spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
Sen. John Barrasso, the incoming whip, told DailyMail.com that McConnell 'is fine.'
A medical official also indicated afterward to press that he was okay despite the tumble.
McConnell suffered several health scares following a fall last year leading to bizarre 'freezing episodes' that sparked concerns.
McConnell was the longest-serving GOP leader in Senate history with a roughly 18-year tenure.
But his yearslong feud with Trump put him at odds with many in the GOP who wanted a MAGA leader going into the president-elect's second term.
Earlier this year, he shocked colleagues by announcing he would be stepping down from the leadership role.

It’s long past time for this aging wimpy loser Republican to retire.
time to pack it in Mitch
Is he dead!
The only way Mitch will ever leave the Senate is on a stretcher with a blanket over his head.
“Why he’s OK. He fell right over”
You can say the same for biden LOL
Time for a dirt nap.
So is Biden, right?
The American people deserve much better than what McConnell can offer.
One way or another, the DEMs are trying to find a way to retake the Senate and/or the House.
Too bad they were able to help him back up.
Another lying politician.
Banana peel?
The only thing scary is that he’s still there screwing America. Retire to China scumbag.
Mitch will be wheeled in and told what to say, like Feinstein.
Was he wearing a toe tag?
Time to book Mitch into shady acres with Joe.
If it comes to that, the Democrat governor of Kentucky would select a replacement. But someone said he is supposed to choose replacement from the same political party as the senator to be replaced. Can this be true?
Just doing some math, with such narrow margins in both House and Senate, hate to see our numbers dwindle.
Did he get too big a check from China?
