In a matter of weeks, LinkedIn cofounder and Democratic Party super-donor Reid Hoffman has gone from pouring at least $10 million into Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign to contemplating a U.S. exodus.
Hoffman told close friends and associates he is considering a move overseas, three anonymous sources told the New York Times last week. The 57-year-old tech mogul, who helped finance E. Jean Carroll’s private sexual assault lawsuits against Donald Trump, reportedly said he fears retribution from the president-elect. Trump has been explicit in his intention to seek vengeance on his political enemies, saying, “Sometimes revenge can be justified.” The remarks came after he was convicted of 34 felony charges related to hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Hoffman, through a spokesperson, declined to comment to Fortune.

Why do these people think that they will be able to escape retribution/justice, just by moving to another country?
If they weren’t doing evil acts, they wouldn’t be running scared. Justice will be meted out, inevitably.
The party’s donor class is still wrestling with Donald Trump’s victory, worried about retribution and sluggish liberal energy. Some rich Democrats are even pondering leaving the country.

In the weeks after Election Day, one of the biggest donors in the Democratic Party, the LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, has considered what would once have been unthinkable for a billionaire who often talks about his patriotism.

Mr. Hoffman, who has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on politics over the last few years, has told friends and allies that he is weighing a move overseas, according to three people with knowledge of the talks who insisted on anonymity to discuss private conversations.
Mr. Hoffman, who declined to comment through a spokeswoman, has helped pay for some of the most aggressive private litigation against Donald J. Trump, and he is worried about retribution from a president who has promised to go after his political opponents, including major Democratic donors.
Hope he sells his residence, pays the Capital Gains, gets hit with a Gavin Newsome type of exit fee, renounces Citizenship and swims with Ellen Degenerate in her newly created swimming pool.
