Will Republicans Try Again to Repeal Obamacare?

Repeal, Undoable

Although a sweeping overhaul of Obamacare is unlikely and probably not possible, Congress could pass reforms to repair some of the damage, says Devon Herrick, Ph.D., a health economist and policy adviser to the Heartland Institute, which co-publishes Health Care News.

“Obamacare so thoroughly destroyed the health insurance market that it would be impossible to go back to risk-related health coverage,” said Herrick. “I suspect Trump will tinker around the edges, possibly scaling back Biden’s premium subsidies. The Trump administration will possibly enforce greater transparency and maybe address shortcomings in the No Surprise Act.”

BULL !!!

President Trump can FORCE the issue, just like he forced them to repeaql the individual mandate by threatening to Withdraw the Special Waiver for Congress and their staff.,

A simple Policy Change at the Executive Branch can FORCE THE ISSUE AGAIN, but this time he needs to just do it and let the chips fall.

Effective immediately there shall be NO taxpayer funds spent on Health Insurance for non military federal employee's. All Non Military Federal Employee's shall be required to enroll in the Affordable Care Act at theiur own expense as their primary Health Care Provider.

All waivers, exceptions and exclusions previously granted are hereby Withdrawn.

Watch how fast Congress repeals this monstrosity in it's entirety when THEY ARE FORCED TO USE IT.

They’re going to have to do something. I don’t think the U.S. taxpayers can afford paying for Obamacare for 50 million illegal alien foreign bass turds.

It’s there forever. Like everything from the government, like pensions or welfare, there are too many recipients to get rid of it.

“impossible to go back to risk-related health coverage”

Did we ever really have risk-related health coverage? I have been buying employer supplied health insurance for almost 30 years and the premiums I have been paying have either been the same for all employees or income related (cheaper for lower paid)

The US healthcare system has been dysfunctional for pretty much as long as there has been a US healthcare system.

The reason it continues to be dysfunctional is that there are many people who benefit from the dysfunction.

Repealing Obamacare is not likely to make any significant difference.

[“Obamacare so thoroughly destroyed the health insurance market"]

All according to plan.

I'd say the quoted is pretty much true, unfortunately. It could be rebuilt but it will take a substantial effort.

Republicans will continue to fight Trump on everything starting with his nominees. These same Republicans voted to confirm Biden's trannies.

Elected Republicans need to learn this country shifted toward Trump, not to Them. They are still very unpopular.

I have Medicare AND I have excellent PPO healthcare through Home Depot what the heck is going on that Dr.’s won’t take on NEW patients???

Obamacare overly burdened the middle income worker and robbed the elderly Medicare recipient.

I dunno. Obamacare's $9,000 deductibles are somewhat of a self destruction on their own. A poorly timed medical need could easily leave you with an $18K copay.

A yearly mammogram and gynecological exam for free, is not much of a deal.

Hospitals and medical providers are demanding up front payments before performing procedures besides stabilizing the patient.

The GOP will never repeal this bloated “entitlement” program. That shouldn’t be news here, either. I’ve been saying the same thing since they regained control of Congress in 2010.

There’s no fixing a bureaucratic behemoth that is built on the delusional expectation people have — that they can force someone else to pay their medical bills.

Agreed, but alternatives need to be presented and Congress has punted the healthcare ball forever.

Since I don’t get any benefit from Obamacare I’m good with killing the program, as it’s a TOTAL WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY.

“Risk-related health coverage” refers to two elements of health coverage that were specifically outlawed under ObamaCare:

1. Denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions.

2. Annual or lifetime caps on coverage.

It’s no coincidence that these two particular provisions of ObamaCare have been the biggest factors in rising health coverage costs since then. It’s like allowing someone to crash their Ford Focus into a tree and then buy an auto insurance policy that allows them to replace it with a Lamborghini.
