Trump considered replacing Pete Hegseth with Ron Desnatos as Defense Secretary: President-elect Donald Trump is considering replacing Pete Hegseth, his controversial pick to lead the Pentagon, with one-time 2024 rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, people familiar with the discussions told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday. The move comes as Hegseth, a 44-year-old Army veteran and former Fox News personality, faces increasing scrutiny over allegations of sexual misconduct and financial mismanagement. Yes, but only if he can resolve his dyslexia issues.

It would be crazy to appoint DeSantis. He needs to remain as Florida’s Governor, and fill the three vacant congressional seats with REAL conservatives.

I like Hegseth. But if he can’t get there I’d like to see Lt Col Matthew Lohmeier who got kicked out of Space Force for being anti-woke, Anti BLM, anti communist.

And he is squeaky clean, Mormon, top of every class in the military he has been in. F-15 pilot.

If Trump wants a Floridian and a military man, try ex-Congressman - Lt. Col. Allen West.

Our son has multifaceted dyslexia. But his IQ is in the genius range. What’s your point?

The governor can not appoint anyone as a representative, only senators.

That’s what Inwas wondering. Who would replace DeSantis?
DeSantis was in the Navy:
“DeSantis joined the U.S. Navy in 2004 and was promoted to lieutenant before serving as a legal advisor to SEAL Team One. He was stationed at Joint Task Force Guantanamo in 2006 and was deployed to Iraq in 2007.”
I think Trump team is gauging the reactions of democrats and RINOs with these picks.

Trump is probably giving DeSantis (and himself) some free publicity while he deliberates.

O think DeSantis wants Rubio’s Senate Seat. He can resign and be appointed by Lt Gov. If not SecDef is a good fit though I dont know if the country is ready for Fla running the country.

desanctimonious probably had his own people make up the story and leak it to the press...

because that's the kind of thing media attention that deesantus' attention seeking, ego looks for...

especially since his almost daily p.r. press conferences became monotonous and were ignored by the media

dahsantis probably thinks he has street cred to fill the position, especially since he put out the campain ad where he says he served with seals....

No governor appoints people to vacant house seats. You have to call the special election for house seats. Only in the case of United States Senator leaving does the governor appoint a temporary senator to fill out the unexpired term?
