The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported the precise number of NICS checks at 169,906 for the day.
There were over 613,000 NICS checks conducted during Black Friday week, which began on Saturday, November 23, and ended at the close of business on November 29.
There have been 64 consecutive months of over one million NICS checks a month for gun sales at retail.
On November 4, 2024, Breitbart News reported October was the 63rd consecutive month for over million such checks, and during a phone call, NSSF’s Mark Oliva confirmed November 2024 proved to be the 64th consecutive month.

Not everyone who buys a gun legally from an FFL has a NICS check.
Not every NICS check represents a first gun for a new gun owner.
Cows with guns...
The supply of firearms, ammo and reloading supplies (including primers) is as high as I can remember in 15+ years.
A lot of people don’t have money to spare.
But a lot of other people are still very worried about security and ability to defend yourself.
I have gradually approached that for several years. Am just about to the point of not needing anything else.
The Illegal Alien Invasion from the South (and North) is driving this harder.

Maybe not, but a NICS check does represent the vast majority of newly manufactured gun purchases. It’s a great indicator of civilian gun purchasing of newly made guns.
“Cows with guns...”
Yes, that too. There are a number of confused #ComDem female voters who suddenly are asking who will protect me. I wish them luck on that.
20 States have “universal background checks.” An FFL dealer selling a used gun (probably a high percentage of sales) will also do a NICS check.
Good
True, but there are very few of those compared to new gun purchases.
Where are the illegal immigrant, gang member, criminals getting theirs? How many of these recorded purchases are pass throughs to them or replacements for guns sold to them?
Just opened my last keg of powder this weekend and running low on primers. Gonna have to open my wallet.
Drug use is now not a condition for refusal
Sorry, prices of both went up a great deal last January.
But prices have softened a little, supply is plenty for both. Periodically they prepay on an order, other times they don’t charge the hazardous charge.
Over past 8-9 years I have dealt with 5 on line wholesale reloading supply companies. All are great companies, all managed to survive the shortages. The small retailers of reloading supplies had a pretty hard time.
I saw a story that showed Republican women are becoming a big factor in gun sales. Liberals may favor the ‘cower in fear’ method of self defense, made me proud that Republican women want to protect themselves and their families.
Got a shop for ‘Black Powder’ caps???
.
Asking for a FRiend.
Very few? Pawn shops sell used guns, almost exclusively. Any LGS I’ve been in has the walls lined with used guns. Collectors, people that want a discontinued model....I would think that the used gun market is significant.
Out of the tens of millions only 200K were private sales in 2022.
Which are a waste of time when applicants can lie on the application and nothing is checked for accuracy before selling the gun.
Current Example : Hunter Biden
I did my part.
