After its Facebook account was suspended, the popular American gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson thanked Elon Musk and X for supporting free speech amid what it called ongoing attacks against the First and Second Amendments.
Andy Stone, a representative for Facebook's parent company, Meta, told Fox News Digital that the account jad been suspended in error and that it has since been restored.
In a Friday post on X, however, Smith & Wesson emphasized the importance of Musk's stance on free speech, criticizing Meta for suspending their account after the platform flagged several of its posts for promoting the sale of weapons.
Founded in 1852 in Norwich, Connecticut, today Smith & Wesson is based in Maryville, Tennessee, and is one of the most recognized gun brands in America, reporting $535.8 million in sales in the 2024 fiscal year.
Smith & Wesson said that "despite our extensive efforts and resources spent on trying to adhere to Facebook’s ever-changing community guidelines on firearms, our account was suspended indefinitely on Friday, November 22nd, 15 years after its original creation."

BS. Some nobody’s account may get canceled over something stupid.
No social media site will suspend the account of a major corporation without it being approved by a human senior manager.
You’re right, although I’m not sure anyone who works a Farcebook is Human.
Gun Cam is Active
Imagine that, a company promoting the sale of their products. If they were making and advertising Depends for Biden, or sex toys for Tim Walz to put in boys restrooms then Meta would have no problem keeping the account active.

Making and selling weapons is what they do and that in of itself is not illegal.
Might as well ban Walmart, Academy Sports, Cabelas and Pro Bass Stores, too.

Got a warning that an illustration of old turn signals using your arms went against FB guidelines. We were taught in high school to use arm signals if the turn signals did not work. I still use them on my old Jeep.
I still get warnings of an old 1870s photo of an Indian massacre of Indians went against guidelines. They wanted to cover the photo.
Got a warning about something about the US being fact checked by some woman in Ghana, Africa.
I also like my M&P Shield. I have a first generation but the one sold with factory trintium night sights. I am not a fan of laser or red dot but this old man can read these sights in an instant. Best upgrade out there.
