I guess the United States is going to have to save the regime.
“Rebels”
Must be folks we’re backing, otherwise we’d call them a pejorative.
One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.
The Russians have been propping Assad up. But they don’t have the spare resources they once had due to the war in Ukraine.
Should we believe that the “rebels” are better, worse or the same as the Assad regime from the standpoint of the US and the West?
Or do we have no clue?
Sooo….
Is there anyone in the picture to root for?
Tourists had to cancel plans to spend Thanksgiving weekend there. Back to plan B of visiting Haiti and Somalia. Or Chicago (with a Kevlar vest).
So who are (supposed to be) the *good* guys in this conflict?
I know with muslims, it’s hard to tell.
Look like Sunni jihadi Turkish surrogates/clients, going up against the Shi’ite Syrian Government, to expand the area of Syria under effective Turkish control.
From the Article:
“The Russian air force on Friday launched an aerial offensive against Syrian armed opposition forces in Aleppo and Idlib provinces, according to Russian state media TASS. Russia claimed to have killed at least 200 members of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a Syrian jihadist group that went by the name Al-Nusra Front when they were affiliated with Al Qaeda.”
I hope the pepper is ok...
These are the "Syrian rebels" attacking Aleppo.
These ISIS terrorists are fully backed, armed, and funded by NATO member Turkey.
