President Biden’s administration is urging Ukraine to lower its draft age to conscript 18-year-olds to keep pace with Russia’s growing military nearly three years after Russia’s full-scale invasion.
A senior Biden administration official told The Associated Press Wednesday that "the pure math" of Ukraine’s situation calls for lowering the draft age from the current age of 25 to expand its outnumbered fighting force.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Ukraine is failing to mobilize and train enough soldiers to replace its battlefield losses and keep pace with Russia's growing forces.
In April, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that lowered the military conscription age from 27 to 25 to replenish its depleted ranks.

At what age did Biden join the military? What was his experience in the military? Has he seen combat up close and personal? These are the questions he should be hit with EVERY DAY until he keeps his ignorant mouth closed.

Regardless of whether I am for or against anything in this war, if your country is being invaded and its future is uncertain, wouldn't you be drafting 18 year old men?

I am shocked to hear they have not already been drafting 18 year olds.
I guess I just didn't see why this was newsworthy, except to point out that if Ukrainians were really in extremis and worthy of hundreds of billions of American taxpayer dollars, they would have been drafting them already.
There are people in countries (including ours) who want us to send OUR OWN 18 year olds over there to fight.
And theirs aren't being forced to fight to save their own country?
Ukraine needs to preserve the next generation so they can rebuild their nation. Their demographics crashed due to the collapse of the Soviet Jnikn
No point. No time to train them before January 20. And the smart ones have already left to “study abroad”.
