Takeaway points:
- Peace talks with Russia and Ukraine.
- Russia retains some of its land seizures. Borders are frozen with those concessions.
- Establishment of an 800 mile buffer zone between the two countries.
- European troops enforce the buffer zone, not American troops.
- America stops funding Ukraine entirely.
- Ukraine cannot enter NATO for 20 years.
- Apparently other European countries would fund the buffer zone.
- Ukraine is hesitant to accept these terms.
I am all for this plan.

This is an older article, Nov 9, but I haven’t seen any posts detailing Trump’s plan.

“with the US committing to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities”
Sounds like military aid.

My BS detector just went off. Zelenskyy could care less about Europe’s security, and it’s no more in danger than before the war. It’s only his own that concerns him.

I don’t think NATO wants Ukraine anyway. At least not while that Fidel Castro wannabe is in there.

Trump’s team has advocated for European nations like Germany, the UK, France, and Poland to shoulder the responsibility of maintaining the buffer zone, aiming to protect Ukraine without direct US intervention One of the reasons cited by Putin was NATO was getting a little too close for Russia's liking, so it is hard to imagine Russia going for NATO armies as a buffer zone to anything. One of the things Putin wanted was more land between main interior Russia, I don't think they would go for UK troops specifically patrolling anywhere near its border. Even freepers here said Putin was justified in its invasion because NATO was getting a little too cute on its borders. Hated NATO armies on patrol? Nah, Russia views Ukraine as part of Russia.

anticipating that Trump might scale back U.S. support for Ukraine
Don’t scale it back.
END IT.
Europeans are big boys. Lots of countries to give them weapons and/or men if they desire.
As long as we are out of it.
Bottom line is the cheapskates want US to fund 80 percent of the war.
No.

I’m all for it too:
“Trump’s approach to peace has been met with mixed reactions. While Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the potential for renewed U.S.-Russia relations under Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed concerns, warning that any peace efforts perceived as appeasing Russia could jeopardize Europe’s security.”
Zelensky wants a few more billion before he moves to some resort area to live like a king.....

Trump is a hell of a lot smarter (politically) this time through. He won’t fund the Ukrainian money-laundering machine this time.
