West Virginia Gov. and Senator-elect Jim Justice said Tuesday he supports a plan by President Joe Biden’s administration to expand access to costly weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, but acknowledged that their prices might be a concern.

Wegovy has one of the most inane commercials currently running. It shows a bunch of still-chubby people walking away from their jobs or tasks to join a crowd of other Wegovy users marching down the middle of the street.

It’s actually a good drug with lots of benefits. Unfortunately it became popular as a largely optional care weight loss drug. Kinda like Viagra which was a legit drug for various heart conditions... and also helped boners. Doesn’t mean the drug is bad, it just means we’re a society that loves quick fixes and unintended uses.
Weird how they outlawed entire classes of performance enhancing drugs only to start pushing weight loss drugs...
I’m sure the makers of Depends, car detailers, reupholsterers, et al think so...

There has never been a weight loss drug that doesn’t do more harm than good.
And in the end there are no weight loss drugs that work.
A woman in my neighborhood lost half her body weight and looks terrific now. She’s mot a wealthy woman so drug probably subsidized in some way. What do those pills cost?
