LONDON (AP) – The U.S. Air Force says a number of small drones have been detected near three bases in eastern England that are used by American forces.

Tuesday’s ongoing incident comes just days after drones were spotted near RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell. They were actively monitored after they were seen in the vicinity of and over the three bases, U.S. Air Forces Europe said in a statement on Sunday.

If we’re going to support WW III, then we can’t expect that we’re NOT going to be disrupted in some way. I presume all this will stop on Jan 20th. Assuming we haven’t lit a fuse that can’t be put out.

Sounds like an opportunity for counter-drone technology.

There are multiple locations where “drones” have been having incursions at US Air Bases. Langley was one of them, there are others. Now here is a new one.

Clearly we cannot stop them but what are they and where are they coming from?

Actually those are British Air Force bases, hence the RAF designation.

One of these times those drones are going to have bombs or chemical weapons attached to them.

You can buy a freaking drone at your local gas station...It's likely kids getting their kicks.

“ Sounds like an opportunity for counter-drone technology.”

The US is too busy spending butt loads of cash on super complex fighters that’ll be obsolete by the time they arrive in the field.

“Clearly we cannot stop them”

That may or may not be true. For U.S. military bases on U.S. soil, at least, federal law prevents interference with the drones or UAPs unless a ‘clear and present danger’ exists (the actual legal verbiage is a lot more verbose). Surveillance does not count. Maybe Trump can change that.

It might be from one of the YouTube ‘auditors’. They love flying drones over government locations.

That may well be true. I remember my step-father saying that manned fighter jets would be obsolete real soon now, and that was in the sixties.

But don’t F35s have the ability to control large numbers of drones?

Sush, ‘drones’ are now the term for the unmentionable UAP/UFO. Got to keep the charade going, cause we (gov’t) lose control otherwise. Note the intentional universality of the new term. Me thinks the jig is about up.

Yes, the second time neocons sent drones to stir trouble and hope to cause wwiii.

Far fetched but i believe they are capable of anything.

“actual legal verbiage is a lot more verbose”

If this is a regulation it can be trashed on day one of the new administration.

I just put up a thread about defending against drones. It lists multiple methods and the article is 7 years old.

I’m sure defense capabilities have increased a lot since then.

I see no defensible reason for allowing drones to overfly anywhere we don’t want them flying.

They sound like a danger as a terror weapon to me, especially against jumbo airliners during takeoff/landings.
