Trump’s Top Team Sets Stage for White House Power Grab
WSJ via MSN ^ | 16 November 2024 | Aaron Zitner, Siobhan Hughes

WASHINGTON—In naming a set of unconventional nominees to run federal departments, Donald Trump this week also took steps to push for a broader goal: realigning the balance of power among Washington’s major institutions so that more authority flows from the White House.

Trump has threatened to take steps that would undermine the Senate’s confirmation powers and Congress’s role in budgeting—the most essential powers of the two chambers. He has insisted that senators allow him to place some nominees directly in their jobs, bypassing the Senate’s public hearings and confirmation process. He has said he would move to impound—or decline to spend—money appropriated by Congress for programs he dislikes, a step likely requiring him to overturn current law in court.

Lots of presidents, including “Saint” Obama made recess appointments.

The Left, in my opinion, seriously underestimates how much distrust people feel toward government. We want someone to take a flamethrower to that thing. Trump cannot go too far.

I remember the WSJ when it had not yet been taken over by the ZOMBIES (I will no longer refer to them as ‘woke’ I’ll call them what they are…’zombiefied’).

If the Senate wants to give a little advice, well okay, but I draw the line at consent.

My Father-in-Law (rich Liberal in Connecticut) says he likes to get news from “both sides” of the spectrum. So, he reads the New York Times (to get that Liberal view) and he also reads the Wall Street Journal (to get that crazy extremist, rightwing view). I’ve tried to explain to him that it’s the same thing, but he disagrees.

What in the hell does the WSJ think the Obama and Biden administrations did? Remember Obama’s famous words…….”elections have consequences? How about “we have to pass it to see what’s in it”.

Right. The American voters chose the future political direction-—not the Dem elites.

And what did they call it when Joe Biden kept saying “the courts ruled my college debt plan is illegal but I defy them and will do it anyway by executive orders.”

And lots of other White House directives on the open border, no more fossil fuel industry and for the DOJ being soft on crime despite laws. Except when used in lawfare against Briden’s opponent in the last election and future one. Like a Third World dictator.

Trying to make government employees sympathetic figures is laughable. Parasites. If they were my neighbors, I’d throw a party when they get kicked out of their house.

It looks like Trump is more savvy than he was during his first Administration. He was naive then.

Agree with that!
The Media was given a complete knock-out by We the People!
They are The Garbage and the voters refused to allow their lies of trash any longer!
We Won and their lies are exposed!

Sigh. I’m old enough to remember when the WSJ was still reputable. It was a long time ago.

Any sane person who lived through Covid has nothing but contempt for the Rule of Experts, which our "public servants" pretended to inflict on us.
