The Times Tech Guild, which represents more than 600 tech workers at The New York Times, announced on Monday that it had ended its weeklong strike despite not reaching a deal on a contract.

The union has been on strike since Nov. 4 and has regularly picketed outside The Times’s Manhattan headquarters. The strike was planned to coincide with Election Day, when readership interest is high.

The Times Tech Guild workers, which include software developers, designers and data analysts, will return to their jobs on Tuesday.

Kathy Zhang, the unit chair of the union and a senior analytics manager at The Times, said the strike “showed that we have the full support of subscribers and allies across the country going forward.” She said the union would continue to fight for a fair contract.

I know that NYT gets a lot of flack here but on election night their “needle” was the first sign to me that Trump was going to win. It was leaning to Trump from the moment that they put it up (it was up late because of this tech strike). It continued to move towards Trump long before any of the TV networks were calling the swing states.

LOL

Rent. Food. Fuel. In liberal la la land, it’s unaffordable and they thought they could scare the old gray communist bear.

Now their all behind on rent and shivering in their PJs eating slices of American cheese.

“...on election night their “needle” was the first sign to me that Trump was going to win.”

I remember watching that needle in ‘16. Pointing towards Hillary, and then it started shifting towards Trump. The Young Turks meltdown was memorable.

Tech workers union. How can that be misused? The NYT workers are often government backed employees. I am sure there is something in their new deal to keep the CIA involved in all their content. This is why new DNI director Tulsi has to be there. We can’t have the government running our media.
