Incoming first lady Melania Trump plans to split her time between New York, Florida and DC during President-elect Donald Trump’s second term in office — “so she can be the hands-on mother to Barron that she is,” a source told The Post Wednesday.
“Melania will be the first lady, but only on her terms,” the Mar-a-Lago insider said. “She’ll do the big events. But no ladies’ tea and no — or very few — interviews.”
“She views winning as the main show, and the rest she’ll do as she pleases,” the source continued. “She’s really in the driver’s seat as to her duties at the White House.
“Melania will be a part time first lady — while being a full-time mother and wife.”
Although the Trumps live at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, they still maintain their residence at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where 18-year-old Barron lives as he enjoys his first year at New York University.
“I could not say I’m an empty nester. I don’t feel that way,” she told Fox News in late September.
“It was his decision to come here, that he wants to be in New York, study in New York, and live in his home and I respect that.
“He’s enjoying his college days. I hope he will have a great experience because his life is very different than any other 18-, 19-year-old child,” she added.

Melania is free to do whatever she wants, but I would let her actions speak for themselves rather than an unnamed source’s pre-inaugural speculation. ♥️
Trump is going to be focused and very busy. And they treated her like garbage last time. No puff piece interviews, no flattering Vanity Fair cover and story. No kindness at all.
Good for her.
And Trump should go to Mar-a-Lago constantly with required personnel. Good way to shake off the Vindman and Ciaramella type spies.

She basically won’t be a mooch and has no power trip ego like Nurse Jilly or Michelle (Mike).
Baron is 18 and at University. Not really sure he wants his mother looking over his shoulder. LOL
I believe that Barron lives at Trump tower while attending university in New York City. There are a lot of security issues due to being President Trump’s son.
It will be different having a First Lady that isn’t pretending to be running the government while being a nanny to the President.

I guess my point was that he, at 18, doesnt really ‘need’ his mom hanging around all the time.
Of course, every young man should be in his Mom’s life….
Barron is starting college. I’m sure a helicopter mom is the last thing he wants. It’s bad enough that he will have to live with a Secret Service detail 24/7. Under the circumstances, living at home is probably a good choice. I imagine the SS is appreciative. But enough is enough.
