The West's Pivotal Defeat in Ukraine
Chronicles ^ | Nov. 2024 | David Ramsay Steele

Posted on 11/13/2024 11:02:04 AM PST by EnderWiggin1970

Napoleon Bonaparte was a genius. Adolf Hitler had an above-average IQ. Joe Biden is a half-wit. All three are fools who believed they could destroy Russia.

The West’s failed Ukraine project has forced us to confront a bewildering array of what look like instances of stupidity, verging even on psychosis. Competent analysts like John Mearsheimer and Jacques Baud confirmed the obvious: total defeat for Ukraine has been inevitable from the get-go, yet the politicians and media kept telling us Ukraine was sure to win, and even if Ukraine lost, at least Putin could easily be removed from office.

To me, the most puzzling of all the many mystifying occurrences was the failure of the U.S. to arrange for a greater output of necessary military supplies, especially artillery shells. If I were planning to go to war with nearly everyone in order to take over the world, I think I would make sure to have enough shells coming off the production lines, not to mention tanks, missiles, and jet fighters.

So outrageous were the screw-ups, we found it hard to dismiss the nagging suspicion that this was an elaborate façade. Behind it all, there must surely be some marvelously deep and intricate conspiracy, some form of quantum chess that would make it all come out right, or perhaps fiendishly wrong. But no, we eventually had to conclude that everything was just as thoroughly bungled and botched as it appeared on the surface, in the sorry mode of U.S. debacles in Iraq and Afghanistan. And just to remove the slightest doubt, we’ve now witnessed the U.S., freshly defeated by the Houthis in Yemen, still fondly dreaming about starting a war with China!

Long but edifying article that goes far beyond the superficialities of the MSM.

Total defeat for Ukraine has been inevitable from the get-go

Which is why Ukraine has been able to stand up to Russia for nearly three years and Russia is so exhausted that it has to turn to North Korea for help.

If we stop sending billions to Ukraine there will be a serious side effect.

Our politicians won’t be able to skim and steal any more off the top.

There are no winners in the Ukraine war. Every side loses, and it is pointless trying to decide who lost more.

Exactly. Russia may be able to get some territory in Ukraine, but it literally destroyed itself in the process. Its economy and society is ruined, soon to be a vassal state to China.

I have to wonder at the delusional state of people like you, and the reckoning that is coming for the media that has been feeding you such notions. Western weapon stockpiles are dangerously low, with little or no production of important weapon systems, while Russia has ramped up production strongly across the board.

Western nations are drowning in debt, all the more so after sending many times as much $$ in aid to Ukraine as the entire Russian military budget (which includes a ton of stuff unrelated to the Ukraine war). Russia's debt/GDP ratio is trivial by comparison.

Sheep-dipped NATO soldiers have been fighting and dying in Ukraine a long time, but you act like NK getting some real-life training in is a big deal. It isn't.

My dear friend, you need to take a closer look at the Russian economy. It is in shambles and is unsustainable. Nor, despite increasing production, have they been able to keep up with the loses in equipment. On paper it seems as if Russia has an unending supply of personnel, but in truth they are running out of men because, for political reasons, they cannot call up those in the Russian heartland. This would cause widespread unrest and threaten the regime. This is why Russia has not mobilized but relies on contract soldiers recruited from the non-Russian regions. No, things are not as rosy for the Russians as you would like to believe. You should not believe the false narrative that the Kremlin is feeding you.

Nobody in the West wants to “beat Russia,” but watching attrition take its toll on the Russian army and equipment is well worth the money spent. Seeing Russia relying on Kim in North Korea and the Iranians for troops and weapons makes Russian weakness clear to the world.

Bleeding Russia out while letting Ukraine do the fighting is the biggest foreign policy no-brainer in the last 25 years

"No-brainer" is a great description, for the decision to risk nuclear conflict with a country whose conventional forces pose no threat to the United States or NATO:

You’ve confused me with someone who supports US intervention in the Ukraine.

I do not.

That does not mean I don’t think Putin also made a terrible mistake. He did. And Russia has paid a terrible price.

You are a victim of our corrupted western MSM. You drank to much of senile Joe’s narrative…..post war analysis will be shocking.

The one truth now is senile Joe’s Project Ukraine has failed, miserably…giving the western clowns a black eye.

Vlad keeps his ethnic Russian territories, and 70 western countries can’t stop it.

The only ethnic Russian territory is Crimea. And we will see how much longer Russia can keep this up. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

They hatched long ago. With a bumbling, corrupted, senile old man giving away $$$ billions of taxpayer’s money to his corrupted Ukie friends, it wasn’t hard to see how it all would end, for many reasons.

Ukraine, 1991-2024 RIP. Amen. The Ukrainian people deserved much better. St Z will be hung from a lamp post when they realize what he did to them.
