i doubt that Ratcliffe has abandoned his call for reforms in FISA process based on his exposure of abuses.
FISA needs to go with the stroke of Trumps exec order pen.
When Trump nominated him in the first term, McConnell wouldn’t allow a vote. Trump then did the smartest thing of his presidency. He named Rick Grennell as acting director. Grennell immediately started kicking arse and taking names by declassifying and releasing DS secrets.
After a few weeks of that, McConnell couldn’t get Ratcliffe confirmed quick enough.
Unfortunately, the IC arse kicking ended when Grennell left.
Simple reading. If Trump openly supports Scott, and Thune gets elected ML, it will not go well.
Trump does not pick majority leader in Senate. Senators vote with secret ballot.

It is absolute stupidity for any Republican to support FISA.
