Republican Rep. Scott Perry defeated Democrat challenger Janette Stelson in the race for Pennsylvania’s Tenth Congressional District, ensuring one of Donald Trump’s top allies will remain seated.
The Associated Press called the race Thursday afternoon. With over 95% of votes tallied, Perry had captured 50.8% of the vote to Stelson’s 49.2%.
The conservative Perry, a former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, was one of Democrats’ top targets this cycle.

Outstanding!
Excellent!
Missed again eh? more range time needed.....actually no....I like it when they miss
Foxnews just called McCormick as the winner too.
Agreed, outstanding. That should put us at 211 with 7 seats more to go in order to control the House.
Scott is one of the best.
Relieved, but the resolutions are coming SOOOO slowly.
This isn’t quite the victory it should be. It is a win, but it shouldn’t have been close.
Stelson ran an awful and childish campaign and came within a single percentage point of winning. With a competent campaign manager, she would have won.
There is still much work to do.
Ping...
This woman was the local darling on a major news channel in Lancaster and surrounding counties.
I would never have had any idea that she was as liberal, woke, and outrageous as she was, is. Seemed to be the girl next store.
Well, wow, not the case! Although her campaign show cased her as more of a conservative. They REALLY smoothed her beliefs down to where you thought she was just a concerned woman.
Perry From what I could tell, didn’t do a whole lot of outreach. I really didn’t see a whole lot of campaigning on his end. Maybe he thought it should be a wake up call for him and for Scott. Is 1000% solid, I want to see him keep going back.
I think this is a fair criticism of Perry. Stelson's campain tried to play both sides, presenting herself as a common sense concerned citizen to seniors, but in materials and ads targeted to democrats, she was a caricature of a far left liberal, calling Perry all sorts of names and leaning heavily on her apparent love of abortion. She didn't do a good job targeting only democrats with those ads though, and she mostly looked like a far left amateur relying on her name recognition as a news presenter.
But for Perry's side of things... what did he really do to "win" his seat? He could have been a better candidate as well. I'm hoping that retail politics AND turnout machine efforts both become a real focus for future GOP elections.
Stelson did a fine imitation of a conservative populist/libertarian as she paid lip service to term limits without making any personal commitment to limiting her own tenure. Otherwise her campaign did a fine job of twisting any compensation Perry ever took for having a dual career in military and legislative service as some kind of unfair and unmerited double dipping. As a constituent of Perry I was also a bit underwhelmed by his ground campaign which could have used a bit more outreach and a heavier frequency of public appearances. His final ad blitz was effective in painting Stelson as the carpetbagger she is, but he needed to at least match the frequency of the opponent’s ads. His ad budget and frequency seemed short and light. I’d wager the challenger spent twice what Perry spent for ad time.
Women almost invariably go left when in politics with VERY few exceptions (Margaret Thatcher, MTG).
