That was why, of all the big shocks during Election Night, the hard shift of Latino voters to Donald Trump did not surprise me in the least. The speed at which it came to pass may have surprised me, but the fact it happened did not. Ever since Trump did better with Latino voters in 2020 — after he called Mexicans drug dealers, rapists and criminals in 2016 — I’ve been cognizant of this shift. And I’ve spent a lot of time trying to work out what’s behind it, particularly when it comes to Latino men.
The warning signs were there. A few weeks ago, a USA Today/Suffolk University poll found that a majority of Latino men between the ages of 18 to 34 supported Trump. Kamala Harris campaign tried to stave off her problem with Latinos by dispatching Latino surrogates in places like Arizona. But it looks like was either all for naught or that Democrats simply didn’t reach out to them in the ways that matter. People who follow me on social media know I tend not to trust exit polls. But heavily Latino counties speak for themselves.

During Ted Cruz’s victory party in Texas last night, he talked about the decisive rightward swing among multiple demographic groups, saying, “The results tonight — this decisive victory — should shake the Democrat establishment to its core.” He’s not entirely wrong. For decades, Democrats have banked on the idea that Latinos will vote for them reflexively because Latinos would see Republican language about immigration as inherently racist (and much of it is).

I know a lot of conservative Latinos, Cuban Mexican and otherwise.
Legal don’t like the illegals.
I don’t see where the writer tried to “raise the alarm” but I agree with his premise that the Democrats have ignored and misread the priorities of all Latinos going back to the 1980s.
Yet, the Democrats threw blacks under the bus to cater to Hispanics, yet they still didn’t lose many black votes.
Obviously not.
Latinos are not nearly as gullible as blacks have been. They have quickly seen through the liberal BS for what it is socialist crums thrown at them to get their votes, while being denied the real American dream
The Democrats offer the MINIMUM to their supporters, Republicans offer the DREAM.
They came here the right way, which is not easy, dug in, made something of their life in a strange land, made it their home and those (redacted) that they had to leave to get away from think they are just going to show up here and waltz to the front of the line?
Oh hell no.
There is a very heavy carrot/stick applied by the democrats.
They never have, Cesar Chaves president of the United Farm Workers Union hated them with a passion and even sent union enforcers down to the southern border to dissuade them from crossing by force.
He recognized that illegals were being encouraged to enter for sole purpose of reducing his members ability to negotiate for higher salaries.
The RNC in close coordination with the DNC and with the full support of big agg and the "free traders" convinced the public that American Hispanics supported the open borders.
The opposite was true, they were the ones most negatively impacted by open borders and the increase crime that came with it. But they had no voice in government speaking for them. Trump has changed that.
Codes of conduct among various cultures are pretty solid. Latinos are mostly catholics and have very solid family values. Pronouns, gender fluidity, wasteful government, abortion, and regulation, are big no-no’s among the Latino community inside America’s borders.
PRETTY BASIC
BECAUSE THEYVATLR3CAMERICANS AND ARE RIRED OF SEEING THIER COUNTRY RUN DOWN!
A man walked up on the Texican welder I was working with and started speaking in fluent Spanish to us while looking only at the Texican, apparently expecting him, and not me being a white man, to understand him based on ethnicity alone.
My welder immediately turned to me and in his completely Texas Hill Country Texan accent asks "Do you speak Spanish because I didn't understand a thing he just said."
That welder was a 7th generation Texan, not Mexican. He didn't like Mexicans.
They are Americans, and they are tired of seeing thier Country be destroyed.
Tejano or Texian is what they call themselves. I did him a disservice just now calling him a Texican.
Harris did not do well with Black men under 35. It affected her in Wisconsin, Georgia, etc.
Democrats treat all ethnic minorities as mascots. I would be highly insulted.
