2024’s Biggest Loser Is The Corporate Media Industrial Complex
The Federalist ^ | Elle Purnell

Posted on 11/06/2024 10:10:14 AM PST by RoosterRedux

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, legacy news networks were already sliding toward 2016 levels of melting down about the increasingly definite prospect of a presidential victory by Donald J. Trump. For them, Harris’ stinging defeat is personal — because it’s just as much a defeat for them as it is for her.

The corporate media industrial complex has spent Donald Trump’s entire political career trying to destroy him. Hand-in-hand with triple-letter government agencies and Democrats, they ran a hoax painting Trump as a Russian stooge based on ridiculous rumors commissioned by his opponent’s campaign in 2016. They continued to spread the lie for the duration of his presidency, awarding each other Pulitzers for it. And they’ve only ramped up their efforts since then.

The problem they’re reckoning with tonight is this: those efforts didn’t work. They’re no longer able to control Americans by controlling their information intake, because their credibility is farther deep-sixed than the Clinton family’s enemies list.

A TV executive anonymously fretted last week that “If half the country has decided that Trump is qualified to be president, that means they’re not reading any of this media, and we’ve lost this audience completely. A Trump victory means mainstream media is dead in its current form.”

...

The less Americans bought their lies, the more the media piled on the rhetoric. But that isn’t working anymore. Instead, the more maniacally the media amp up their attacks, the less they appear to be sticking.

If the past eight years — and the first few hours of cope-streaming from TV Wednesday morning — are any indication, the legacy press isn’t planning on repentance. They don’t feel obligated to represent Americans; they feel entitled to control them. The loss of that control is making them apoplectic.

Corporate Fascism didn’t work for Hitler and it didn’t work for Harris!

Now that the msm has become a thing of the past let's focus on some facts.

Yep, between the donations in kind with favorable coverage, real money spent and the donations in kind of fraudulent negative coverage of Trump, this was a $5 billion election that the Alt Left Obama political machine lost.

1st Trump destroyed the Bush dynasty, then he destroyed the Clinton machine now he added Obama’s scalp to his victory case

The media, being headquartered in the New York/Washington axis, are clearly out of touch with most people in this country.

Doesn’t matter, they will continue being who they are; corrupt fake news leftist activists. If you saw a chart of their earnings and readership/viewership you’d laugh, downward decline all the way, just like K-12 test results.

WaPo isn’t a public company, of course, but was said to be expecting a loss of over $100 million in 2023.

Yeah but please don’t take Katie Pavlich off the air. I think she is easily the prettiest woman on any news channel.

Anyone who expected any soul-searching in the MSM after yesterday’s election was dreaming. Instead, the MSM are doubling-down.

The corrupt media have ruined or cost millions of people their lives. They do this for fun.

The old media is being replaced with the new media (like the Joe Rogan Experience). They know they are shooting themselves in the feet but, like drug addicts, they just can’t stop.

TV Ratings: Election Night Viewing Drops Sharply

Fox News led all networks in primetime, but audiences were smaller across the board compared to 2020.

by Rick Porter - 11/6/2024

Primetime coverage of the presidential election averaged 42.29 million viewers across 18 cable and broadcast networks from 7-11 p.m. ET, according to final same-day ratings from Nielsen. That’s a steep, 26 percent decline from four years ago, which drew 56.92 million viewers, and the least watched election night since the ratings service began keeping total viewer tallies in 2000.

Nielsen also says 22.6 percent of TV households (28.45 million) watched election coverage Tuesday, the lowest percentage ever dating to 1960. Donald Trump was elected to his second term, with most news outlets calling the race early Wednesday morning.

Above is part of an interview with Nixon where he talks about the media. The MSM hasn’t changed in 50 years. He talks about how self-righteous they are. And the double standards. They rail against the unchecked presidency. But the president is kept in check by the Senate, Congress and the Court. The media is unchecked.

He says that he would never suggest that they be censored. But, he thought that especially in the written press (where the goal of ratings is less) there was an opportunity for writers to do a better and more truthful job in reporting.

The internet has taken on that role of course.
