For all the concerns about a tumultuous process that could leave Americans waiting for days to learn who its next president would be, news outlets instead experienced an election night that hewed close to tradition.
Fox News Channel was the first to declare Donald Trump had reclaimed the presidency at 1:47 a.m. on Wednesday. Other television networks and The Associated Press had Trump on the precipice of returning to presidency when he took the stage in Florida at 2:25 a.m. to declare victory. “This is, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time,” Trump said onstage at his victory party in West Palm Beach.
His opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, would speak later Wednesday morning, her campaign manager said, dispersing a crowd that had gathered to celebrate her at Howard University.
Broadcast, cable news networks, digital news sites and one streaming service — Amazon — covered the count steadily into Wednesday morning. Many of their journalists had warned viewers that determining the winner could be a protracted process that could take several days, like it had in 2020.
Yet from the first hints provided by exit poll results shortly after 5 p.m. Eastern time, the election night story moved methodically in Trump’s direction. The dam broke at 11:18 p.m. on Tuesday, when the AP called the first of seven battleground states, North Carolina, for the former president.
The networks moved quickly into the post-mortem stage.

A lot of artful writing that actually means “although the Democrat machine cheated, it was insufficient to flip enough states overnight, as happened four years ago.”
I listened for a few minutes to the morning programs, and they are still spewing the firehose of lies.
They haven’t learned a thing.
Plus every place was being watched reported and amplified by on x by Maga friendly folks.

It was a great experience to again know who won on the night of the election, it sure made for a fun experience here at FR last night.

Just like 2016, when DJT “came from behind” even though in both elections he was never behind . . .
I suspect that the left didn’t try that hard to cheat this time, knowing how insurmountable it would be to chest her in- and I suspect the next election they will pull out all the stops thinking that America has forgotten enough that they can get away with it. It was like they “gave the nation” a “gimme” this election, hoping that people’s minds will be eased about liberal cheating, only to come back next time when the race might be closer, and cheating another candidate back in.
They were pretty blatant about it in 2020, bu5 might be more coy in a future election. They can’t win on po,icy- if they are to run a campaign legitimately, the only real things they can run on are “free stuff for everyone (but conservatives) and running another “novel candidate” so that they can run on being “the first (fill in the blank) to win. Obama won because he was “the first black man” , and many independents thought it was “cool to elect the first black lresident” even though he had no real accomplishments to run on- the nation went bonkers over him just because he was black, and because the press played him up so massively.
I think they gave the nation a “gimme”- in the hopes that folks will think they really didn’t cheat in 2020 so that next time they can cheat again and get away with it once they have all the power again-
I think they g9t cold feet backed off on this eledtion knowing that it would be way too unbelievable if she suddenly surged ahead overnight like happened in 2020- I think the left got too spooked to try it again, knowing they could be investigated
