BUDAPEST, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Europe will need to rethink its support of Ukraine if Donald Trump is elected president of the United States, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Sunday, as the continent "will not be able to bear the burdens of the war alone".
Orban opposes military aid to Ukraine and has made clear he thinks Trump shares his views and would negotiate a peace settlement for Ukraine.
He backs former president Trump, the Republic candidate, to beat Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in Tuesday's U.S. election.
"We (in Europe) need to realize that if there will be a pro-peace president in America, which I not only believe in but I also read the numbers that way, ... if what we expect happens and America becomes pro-peace, then Europe cannot remain pro-war," Orban said.
Ukraine will be high on the agenda when European leaders meet in Budapest in the coming week, he said, referring to a European Political Community meeting and a more informal meeting of EU leaders due to take place.
"Europe cannot bear the burden of [the war] alone, and if Americans switch to peace, then we also need to adapt, and this is what we will discuss in Budapest," Orban said.

There is no NATO. There is only the USA.
Summary: Europe has been sitting on their collective Obamaholes for decades, depending on the good old US of A for protection while at the same time criticizing everything we did for them.
Well, you lazy bums had better start arming up. We’re gonna have our own troubles with a real insurrection that’ll come if Trump wins. If the Ho wins, we all may as well give up and let poor education, greed, and just plain evil take over what used to be a beacon of hope.
Beyond its people, Ukraine possesses two assets to Europe: grain production and as a transit for petrochemical energy from Russia. If they lay off of farmers, they can grow enough food. The need for energy can (and should) be mitigated with micro-nukes.
Israel/Ukraine are the only two countries in the world right now fighting off the IRAN-Russia-North Korea Alliance’s agressions all over the place.
May the West continue to support Judeo-Christianity against the Islamo-NeoSoviet-Communist Alliance I just mentioned above.
Time has come where the West will have to decide if it will play the defeatist Chamberlain card, or the border-respecting Churchill card.
Shall we choose weakness? Or shall we choose strength against the Islamo-NeoSoviet-Communist Alliance?
We the West are lucky to not have been invaded and attacked (directly, yet...) by the IRAN-Russia-North Korea Alliance... But the final countdown is close, very close... Ukraine/Israel is the last line of defense against the expanding Islamo-NeoSoviet-Communist lust for blood and conquest. De facto, if Ukraine/Israel falls, WWIII begins.
Thus, if we want to prevent WWWIII we’ll better double down with our support for Ukraine/Israel’s self-defense, right now.
What a tragedy - the “gravey train” [sic] might be reaching the end of the line...
I sure hope so.
Equating Israel’s self-defense with Ukraine’s is basically false history, and it will lead to terrible results.
Israel has been attacked, since its UN “founding” by, terrorists with a religious commitment to its annihilation.
Ukraine has been attacked in an attempt to reattach it to Russia.
The two problems must be treated separately and individually.
No wonder Z-Man, the Global Homo is panicking.
Yes, it would.
Additionally, the American Prog Socialist Democrat Bureaucratic Tyranny would do a lot of "Rethinking" ... as opposed to doing a lot of Prison Time.
“The two problems (the attacks on Israel and Ukraine) must be treated separately and individually.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Unfortunately it’s impossible to treat them “separately”, simply because Russia is allied to Iran and is proactively supporting Hamas and hezbollah AGAINST Israel.
Putin ‘forming axis of terror’ as he welcomes Hamas and Iran to Moscow:

“After we win this war...we will make sure that Ukraine wins...Russia will pay the price...”:

Thus, Russia’s push for blood-spill in Israel and Ukraine must be treated equally.
It’s about time we start to resist the Islamo-NeoSoviet-Communist Alliance (IRAN-Russia-North Korea).
Trump is going to dismantle the deep state, this includes the filthy corrupt oligarchs in Brussels who think their shit don’t stink and are accountable to no one.
The trash in Europe is going to be taken out. The EU politburo is going to be fed to the eastern Europeans. They are ALL going to get what they deserve. Pain and punishment is coming.
The EU is already feeding Orban’s Hungary.
Without the massive EU subsidies that Orban receives (and is begging for on his knees), Hungary would already have collapsed. Hungary remains afloat solely based on continued EU economic support. His country is also severely enslaved to Russia, as its importing 100 of it energy from Russia. Trump has already condemned those few countries in Europe who relies solely on Russian oil.
Orban runs his country like a socialist regime, relying on EU money to survive. He’s survival depends on EU subsidies.
Orban is one of the few in EU who is honest and has common sense.Time to cut off all us taxpayer dollars to the ukes and make EU pay more for NATO.We need to end this proxy war.
Just freeze the combat lines/borders where they are if the parties won’t negotiate.
Viktor Orban is a very good man!
And Donald Trump will bring peace to Ukraine and its entire region!
First two leaders Trump should meet are Orban and Milei.
My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine. However, this war should have never been and should have been forced to stop by civilized nations long ago.
The 1994 Budapest Memorandum assured Ukrainian borders in exchange for its giving up its nuclear weapons. After Putin’s little green men invaded Crimea and after the even bolder and obvious invasion of Ukraine in 2023, Russia should have been stopped and the war ended. That was the promise of the Budapest Memorandum that no major power wanted to remember or live up to.

I have relatives who were born in Ukraine prior to 1890. I am a descendant of one of the families the escaped to the USA before 1903. Those that remained behind had a horrible future under the orders of Moscow. Some were executed during Stalin's purges. Some farmers were shipped off as Kulaks to labor camps to be worked to death. Others were starved to death under the Soviet genocide known as the Holodomor. Still others were used as cannon fodder and slaves by German and Russian armies fighting over control of Ukraine.
There are many good reasons for the hatred of Moscow among Ukrainians and their descendants.
Good. Let Europe deal with this mess.
