Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass on Tuesday jointly announced additional funding to combat homelessness.

The $827 million in state funding will better connect people experiencing homelessness to shelters and services, the officials said.

That money will go to 37 regional grantees that represent 100 local communities and organizations across the state, Newsom’s office said in a news release.

“The funding comes with strong accountability measures and reporting requirements to ensure funding is used effectively and outcomes can be tracked and measured,” the release added.

A even bigger boondoggle than the high speed rail fiasco.

Newsom is a greasy worm.

I predict that what little of it which does not get stolen, will only make the problem worse.

The scary thing is the rest of us (we non-Californians) will help pay for this.

I want to be one of those 37 grantees! 875 divided by 37 that’s too much for me to figure in my head. It’s more than 20 million for each entity.

Kiss that money goodbye California. You must spend this money otherwise all the NGOs will be added to the homeless population.

It will grow to $1 billion and CA taxes will go up again accordingly. And of course even more “homeless” will flock into the state and the amount will grow again larger.

They could buy all of Arizona City and have $798M left over!

But then the poor, poverty stricken buttwipes would have to *gasp* live in the desert....like millions of other people already do!

And the mansions are located where there are no homeless. Funny how that works. /s
