The new Tiangong team will carry out experiments with an eye to the space programme's ambitious goal of placing astronauts on the Moon by 2030 and eventually constructing a lunar base.
The Shenzhou-19 mission is scheduled to take off with its trio of space explorers at 4:27 am Wednesday (2027 GMT Tuesday) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said.
Among the crew is Wang Haoze, 34, who is China's only female spaceflight engineer, according to the agency. She will become the third Chinese woman to take part in a crewed mission.
"Like everyone else, I dream of going to the space station to have a look," Wang told a media gathering Tuesday alongside her fellow crew members, lined up behind podiums and tall panes of glass to seal them off from the public.
"I want to meticulously complete each task and protect our home in space," she said.
"I also want to travel in deep space and wave at the stars."
Headed by Cai Xuzhe, the team will return to Earth in "late April or early May next year", CMSA Deputy Director Lin Xiqiang said at a separate press event confirming the launch.

The next American (if there is one) on the moon will be aboard a Chinese spacecraft. Maybe working for the Chinese, maybe a wealthy tourist. And there might well be private corporations sending people to the moon (with Chinese permission).

“I want to travel in space and wave at the stars”. She must not be too bright. You can do that from earth as it glides through space...and it doesn’t cost anything.
Everybody Wang Chung tonight!
Not to confused with her big brother, Wang Hose.
Sounds more like they’ve got their own Kamala Harris.
“You can do that from earth as it glides through space...and it doesn’t cost anything.”
Stars obscured by our atmosphere.
Hopefully Heavy Lift booster and Starship will be fully functional next year. The $ to orbit will dramatically decrease again.
My childhood hero was Werner von Braun, regrets to Tom Lehrer, so I really understand her dreaming and am deeply impressed that she turned those dreams into a coming reality. The Chinese educational system might be hard on those kids, but what they can accomplish with the knowledge crammed into their brains is awesome. We need to get back to solid education of facts based on science, not opinion or politics. Hopefully, without the force feeding, and then gain back the position we once held in the world community of scholars. Come on, Musk, we’re counting on you.

Why did you modify her words in your quote?
Something written for her by her commissar. It's still Communist China.
Doesn't mean she's not a competent engineer.
“She must not be too bright. “
Masters in Engineering.
SpaceX will have us on the moon and beyond by 2030.

That date has slipped, and it may not be feasible - as there will have to be 15 refuelings each way per trip to the moon. Forget Mars as long as Starship is made of stainless steel (too heavy, way too heavy).
They have yet to demonstrate orbital refueling. Worse, they have not demonstrated catching a StarShip. Lots and lots of stuff to demonstrate in 5 short years with the government fighting them all the way.
Moreover, Artemis is not going well, as the actual plan on how to get there is up in the air.
It is good to know Chy-nah has a DEI program, at least it will destroy their society too, just like it is doing to ours.

I also perceive that they'll have a better regulatory environment in the coming four years...
Is it live, or is it Memorex?
