Earlier this week, we received confirmation that former President Donald Trump would be interviewed on Joe Rogan's popular podcast on Friday. Rogan's show has more than 14 million followers on the Spotify platform.
Last week, Reuters reported that Kamala Harris "could sit down for an interview with popular podcaster Joe Rogan, whose audience leans heavily towards young men, as she works to shore up support with male voters." However, her campaign has now confirmed she won't be doing it.
“We talked with Rogan and his team about the podcast. Unfortunately, it isn’t going to work out right now because of the scheduling of this period of the campaign,” Harris-Walz campaign spokesman Iam Sams told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Thursday evening.
It was always doubtful that Kamala would ever appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast, given her preference for tightly controlled interviews with sympathetic hosts. Just last week, her disastrous interview with Bret Baier on Fox News fueled speculation that she’d avoid taking risks like a Rogan appearance at this point in the race.
It should come as no surprise that her campaign officially backed out of doing Rogan's podcast in the wake of her disastrous CNN town hall on Wednesday.
The main takeaway from the town hall was Kamala never seemed to answer any questions, relying on “word salads” instead of direct answers. CNN’s own pundits were unimpressed. Jake Tapper noted, “She focused a lot more on Donald Trump, I think it’s fair to say, than she did on many specifics in terms of what she would do as president.” Dana Bash echoed this by saying, “If her goal was to close the deal, they’re not sure she did that.”
Van Jones criticized Harris for being “evasive” and expressed irritation with her "word salad stuff."

Meanwhile Chlamydia Harris claims that Trump is the one backing out of events.
Unreal.
Kamala facing Rogan would be a complete disaster for her... She would look like a fool and likely act like a fool.
Harris will forever own the phrase “word salad”.
I knew that was never going to happen.....especially after cnn couldn’t even rehabilitate her.
She’s a train wreck crashing into a dumpster fire time 10.
I’ve never seen anyone so unprepared in my life.....it really is amazing......and not in a good way.
So much for Kalamity Harris.
Hit that bottle girlfriend.
I hope the good people of our country will see that she is incompetent, and has been DEI/ Peter Principled to her current position. No more! We deserve so much better.
Even the people at CNN used that phrase about her. I had never heard of a word salad before. It is appropriate for Kamala.
Trump refers to the way he speaks at rallies and sometimes answers questions as doing a “weave”. He always gets back to the actual answer to the question. Kamala, on the other hand, seldom answers the question at all.
She could not last 15 minutes with Rogan, much less 3 Hours.
If you’ve lost Van Jones.......and she’s lost some others at CNN.
Does she still have loyal minions at MSNBC? Rachel Maddow and Mika and the gang won’t leave her will they?
It this won’t be a cakewalk for Trump either. He needs to think it out.
In a year or so, we’ll all be going....Kamala who??
As a Trekkie, I find this image absolutely hilarious (or as Spock would say... fascinating)
They showed a video of a townhall undecided voter who says (paraphrase): "This [election] is very much a turn-off and this is for both candidates ... stop trashing each other, stop trashing Trump. Trump, stop trashing the Vice President."
Joy(less) Behar: "That woman doesn't know what she's talking about! ... This is a Presidential candidate with credentials versus some, some, some kind of nutcase. That's what you're up against. Stop with the '[I'm still on the] fence' already, I'm sick of it! I can't take this anymore! I cannot wait until Election Day so I can sleep at night!"
Another extreme far-left woman (identity?) on the panel: "He [President Trump] is a nutjob! That is very clear!"
Whoopi Goldberg: "I know ... She [Kamala] suddenly became the nominee. She's got to get up on top of stuff. She has to think as the Presidential candidate and not the Vice Presidential candidate ... She's doing the best she can with what she's got. If that's not enough, then we're in trouble."
Whoopi is right -- the Democrats are in huge trouble.
What else in her campaign could be more effective than sitting down with the most popular media entity in the entire country?
Oh, I’m sorry. Didn’t realize. They’re lying.
Of course, in her case the "peter principle" means something a little different.
That it does!
