South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol has vowed he “won’t sit idle” over reports that North Korea has sent thousands of troops to Russia to aid Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Speaking in Seoul after talks with visiting Polish president Andrzej Duda, Mr Yoon described the North Korean deployment as “a provocation that threatens global security beyond the Korean Peninsula and Europe”. He added: “South Korea won’t sit idle over this.”

Just as in the years before the two world wars, a bunch of little things will eventually lead to the big things.

All we have had so far is a lot of hyperventilating MSM and claims, first from Zelensky and Ukraine, then disavowed by the Pentagon, then claimed by the State Dept, and now South Korea is chiming in.
Has anyone actually SEEN or photographed a DPRK soldier anywhere near Ukraine?
Or is this just more hype, propaganda and nonsense, perhaps for the US election?

Much ado about nothing. The Norks are so insular they can be encouraged to defect. How will they work with Putin’s troops with the language barrier? Capture a few of them and then interview.

"South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol has vowed he “won’t
sit idle” over reports that North Korea has sent thousands of
troops to Russia to aid Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine." Why does this matter to South Korea? Now there are thousands
less Nork troops to deal with. And if those Nork troops
engage in battles with Ukraine, they'll most likely be
killed anyway.
Seems like South Korea winning without doing anything.

If Norks want to waste lives in Ukraine, isn’t that good for South Korea?

Why would the S Korean guy be rattled if the N Korean guy is sending his forces to Russia to be greased by Ukraine?
The S Korean guy is sounding like a Neocon.

CBS has reported the Pentagon has confirmed the presence of Norks in or near Ukraine territory.

CBS has reported the Pentagon has confirmed the presence of Norks in or near Ukraine territory. Nonsense. Austin said 5 days ago there was no credible information of Norks in Russia. Now today, Pentagon is saying there may be 3000 in EASTERN Russia for possible training.
What a load of hype this is
Let's all look again when there is some REAL news. Not this DC/Steele Dossier-style rumor-mongering-to-create-fake-reality BS.

N Korea isn’t sending troops to fight and die in Ukraine for free. Russia is giving them something, likely military knowledge, experience, and resources.

Usually, there is a quid pro quo. North Korea might have an agreement that Russia fights on their side in any future war on the peninsula.
To: CodeJockey
South Korea really does not want destabilization in North Korea, out of fear of the millions of refugees that would result.

What could the South Koreans offer the Ukes that would help them. If they were so inclined?
