The article seems to say there is a “safe zone” where you cannot express your disapproval. The guy prayed silently. There would be no crime if the coppers didn’t ask him the nature of his prayers. He ratted on himself, maybe knowingly to make a case. But even that seems absurd. He didn’t express disapproval he thought about and prayed for his son. Nobody would know unless they asked. Either way it seems way over the top. UK has really fallen apart.
