Some things are near absolutes. They are binary because if you open the door for government control or limiting the rights of people, there will be no end to the games and limits imposed until one day you wake up and realize you have no more rights.
Free speech is one of those. Sorry if you don’t like it when people say mean things. Sorry if you don’t like it if someone has a theory about why things are the way they are which paints your side in a negative way. Sorry if you do not like porn, or on line gambling, or mean spirited meme’s. I am even sorry if you actually believe to hold a monopoly on morality and the truth and think only your version of this truth should be allowed to be perpetuated.
However, if you actually believe in “free speech” you MUST be willing to swallow the bad taste of those things you do not like because any attempt at protecting the children from porn, or curbing jihadist and Russian propaganda, or or or... will ultimately also give government the power to censor things they do not like that are posted about Covid, the Ukraine war, by an opposition political party, is derogatory regards mass immigration...
