The Biden administration announced Thursday it is racing to cancel student loans for more than 60,000 public service workers. The move comes just 18 days before the 2024 election and brings the number of public service workers who have now benefitted from such taxpayer-funded largesse to over one million.

The gift delivers $4.5 billion in debt relief to teachers, firefighters, and other service workers who have been dutifully meeting loan repayment obligations for over a decade, the Hill reports.

4.5 Billion $$$ of TAXPAYERS EARNINGS now will be used to pay off the debts of dead-beat government workers, to buy their votes for (D).

I don’t see how this could be even close to being legal... :(

$4.5B/60000 = $75000 per person. And a forgiven loan is income for tax purposes.

IRS: “Let’s see. You are in the 24% bracket so you owe us $18,000 - NOW!”

It is not. They know that the USSC will overturn it, but that will be after the election.

Now imagine if the story read:

“The US Government stopped making payments on 30 year treasury bonds today. They had been paying them for ten years. The Biden Administration says that was a good effort and it should be enough for the holders of the bonds.”

Joe, make up your mind - either help Kamala win, or continue to undercut the person who most benefited from the coup against you. Mr, I would go with Door #2,

Why hasn’t that thief, Bidenskyyyyyy, been charged and indicted. This bass tard is using taxpayer dollars to buy votes for communist RATS. He should be in prison. What he is doing is illegal. We won’t even get started on what he and the Jamaican Banana lady has done throwing money that belongs to Americans to freeloading, criminal foreigners like fish to seals at Seaworld. That is not his money to give away to buy votes. Where the hell is the Department of Jerks and the FBI? Biden and Harris are the biggest crooks America has ever seen.

How does the executive branch on its own disburse funds?

I wonder which political party these public service workers are going to support in this election. :smirk:

We’re effectively doing that by creating inflation. It’s not a technical default, but realistically all bond holders get screwed. Oh, btw, the inflation rate isn’t what the lying government tells us it is; a better measure is the growth in the money supply, which has been averaging over 12%/year since we came off of the gold standard. Unless you buy a bond and rates drop A LOT (and you sell for a large capital gain), you get screwed (and even if they do, you’re taxed on the illusory gains).

As if they needed to be bought? They must have some crazy internal polling going on if they need to do this panic move.

As far as votes are concerned, that’s preaching to the choir.

4.5 billion dollars..

Again for perspective.

One million is a thousand thousands.

One billion is a thousand MILLIONS.

And there are 4.5 of those.

Would love to see requirements to apply. No married people, only certain zip codes, income caps, gun ownership, vehicle types, religion?

At the very least, these former students should be responsible for paying the income taxes due on that forgiven debt. Revoking the credentials earned would also be a just byproduct of invalidating these debts.

To be honest, what The Great One would have done in his last months would have had NO bearing on my decision to vote or not for Bush i.

It’s biden doing what biden does.

And federal workers don’t vote R anyway.

And this will anger at least some independents.

I think Biden knows what he’s doing at times.

I dont think he likes kamala or the clintons or obamaa

can’t blame the old coot

Blame the old. life-long criminal. Even though this worthless human being has dementia, he still is president and has responsibility for his actions.
