Russia has recaptured a few villages in its western borderlands that Ukraine invaded over the summer, threatening Kyiv’s hold on territory it views as crucial leverage for pushing Moscow toward negotiations to end the war.
In recent days, Russian troops have intensified efforts to dislodge Ukrainian forces from the bulge of territory they seized in Russia’s western Kursk region, launching several assaults spearheaded by armored vehicles.
Battlefield maps compiled by independent groups using satellite images and combat footage indicate that Russian forces have driven a wedge into the western edge of the Ukrainian bulge, recapturing at least three villages.
“In general, the situation in Kursk is not so good,” DeepState, a group with close ties to the Ukrainian Army that analyzes combat footage, said on Sunday.

It is the NYTs, so caution is advised.
Ukraine organized its best remaining NATO equipment, theater air-defenses and most capable battalions to invade Russia at Kursk.
At the time, many people saw it as a German WWII “Battle of the Bulge” scenario.
Following that historical analogy, the near future will likely hold: total US/Biden Admin ghoul abandonment of Ukraine, Russian demands for unconditional surrender, a spike in Ukraine battlefield deaths, and the suicide or murder of Zelensky in his bunker.
Don’t sugar coat it.
Oh good grief. Since when is invading Russia a wise tactic. Sure you can do it. But as the old saying goes, there are two tragedies in life, not getting what you want, and getting it - good and hard.
St Z’s numerous refusals for negotiations are resulting in Vlad deciding the outcome on the field.
….Marioupol, Bakmut, Avdivka, Ugledar,…then add to it Kursk- it will be added to their long list of failed offensives.
I do however see senile Joe’s western MSM starting to wake up and grudgingly report the Ukies losses….a prep for Project Ukraine’s total failure.
You have to deal with reality, and they decided it was better to kill off hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens who had little, or no, military training, and weren't even allowed to own a gun.
In the US, we grow up shooting for fun, in all rural areas, like I did.
I'm fine with shooting.
“While Russia’s recent gains in Kursk are significant, they have overextended, leaving themselves vulnerable to a coordinated Ukrainian counterattack that could push them back and close the dragon jaws. Future developments will hinge on Russia’s ability to stabilize their flanks and replenish losses, while Ukraine must secure its supply lines to the towns north and south of the Russian advance, to prepare for further counterattacks.”

Indeed. Lots of other monetized YouTube videos should also come with "caution" labels. One entered into this thread:

Breaking news: Russia captures Russia. Could Putin’s Russia be any more fake and Potemkin? Obviously, not.
“Russia captures Russia.”
Too bad Ukraine can’t say the same.
