The MCCL State Victory Fund has launched a digital ad campaign spotlighting the reality of vulnerable newborns and Minnesota’s extreme policies that threaten them. The ads call out specific incumbent state lawmakers for their votes to repeal a requirement that born-alive infants receive medically appropriate care that could save their lives.
“As our ad campaign shows, abortion survivors are real people,” said Cathy Blaeser of the MCCL Victory Fund. “But DFL lawmakers voted to put newborns who survive abortion or who have disabilities in jeopardy—to allow these babies to be set aside to die. We’re going to make Minnesotans aware of exactly what happened. We’re calling for compassion, not this cruel extremism.”
The ads feature a woman who survived an abortion procedure and whose mother fought to save her life after birth. They also tell the story of another woman whose baby with disabilities was denied lifesaving surgery. Versions of the ad will run in selected House districts around the state, and a statewide version has also been created. The ads will run for at least two weeks.
In 2023, state lawmakers changed Minnesota’s Born Alive Infants Protection Act. Among other changes, they repealed the requirement that reasonable measures be taken to “preserve the life and health of the born alive infant,” replacing it with a requirement for only comfort care (SF 2995). Defenders of this change—and many unquestioning media outlets—have made the demonstrably false claim that the previous policy required extraordinary and burdensome measures in hopeless cases; in truth, it only required “reasonable measures consistent with good medical practice” to preserve life so that babies wouldn’t simply be set aside to die.
Under Minnesota’s new policy, they can be.
For a point-by-point explanation of the changes to Minnesota’s born-alive protections, including documentation and responses to common questions and confusions, see this recent MCCL article.
Let’s hope that that ad at least touches what little humanity remains in the left- at least a few anyways-

Murder.
Tim Walz’s wife is traveling the country reading “Bathe the Cat” to children.
As a pastor, I often harp on the reality that if one professes Christ - then your actions, words, and deeds ought to more and more reflect the Christ you claim.
And every day, I grow more convinced that voting “Democrat” is sinful. Im’ not suggesting that a vote for the “R” is of particular virtue - but to vote for the party that has such a demonic blood-lust is CERTAINLY wicked.
Seems like this came up at the Veep debate. Walz denied it. I’d sure get a kick out of seeing Trump win Minnesootuh.
Under this 2023 law (which Walz pushed for), something like 6 babies survived their abortions and were allowed to die. Those cases were documented.
The law was later modified to no longer require any documentation of babies surviving their abortions.
“...whose baby with disabilities was denied lifesaving surgery.”
I know their is the leftist “ethicist” that says newborns should be “aborted” if they have disabilities. I imagine that somewhere there is a leftist that says that a child up to the age of 7 or so that shows signs of having any type of disability can be “post-birth aborted”. Saving the child and the family of a life time of hardship.
Remember how appalled we were at the evil excesses of the Roman Empire? The sick debauchery of decadent Rome? It didn't even occur to us that such evil could happen in America. Certainly in our lifetime! The American People were so strong--morally, intellectually, in every way--that they would no more tolerate it than they would have tolerated nazi concentration camps or medieval torture chambers.
Remember how confident we were in the strength, honor, virtue, decency, wisdom, and morality of the American People? The American Republic?
I believe our nation is going to be punished for this.
“Health Care” - say the “progressives.”
Eleven years ago my daughter was 3 month’s pregnant with my grandson and was diagnosed by Mayo Clinic no less as having Downs Syndrom and a candidate for termination. My daughter and son-in’law said NO!
Today he is 100% healthy, no issues what so ever, and doing great in school. He is the light of our life. God DOES answer prayer.
