Volunteers at Squantanoa helping get aid to mountain people in wake of Helene, after it became apparent that FEMA sucks.

I was interested in this from the Corps of Engineers.

After listening to this babble of nothing, its apparent why things will take so long to be resolved.
Seems all the “official” helpers are too busy assessing and building little power fiefdoms while the real work is being done by regular and local folks.
The infrastructure is going to take a long time...especially when you spend months assessing.
God bless the military take charge patriots - the just get ‘er done army of volunteers. These are true heroes serving humanity when and where it counts. I hear even a light helo (fuel and maintenance) takes $500 an hour to operate so this airlift effort back into the hills is not cheap.
Sadly we let these government pukes off the hook so they can continue supporting and funding non Americans over seas

There are some really outrageous crap that Harris and Walz are doing to politicize the hurricane disaster. Many here know of Shawn Ryan, the former Navy Seal’s podcast. Here he interviews two guys involved in supporting the hurricane victims. The story of the fake Kamala photo op loading of an aircraft with supplies claimed to be for hurricane victims is a doozy.

Isn’t that supposed to be “Swannanoa”??????

Sorry for the multiple posts...
As a local resident, I can state that you are absolutely correct.
I typed it phonetically, thinking it was named after the famous Indian interpreter Squanto. Sorry. Should have known he was nowhere near Florida.
Well, there’s an “a@@” in “assessing”. I assess that where their brain is.
Swannanoa River runs thru Asheville and thru nearby Black Mountain...close to the late Billy Graham’s home in Montreat.
Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Spanking self for ignorance of North Carolina geography.
Temporary electric supply, drinking water, waste water, and bridge and road construction and assessment are some of the things the Army Corps of Engineers does well. And they only have 250 to help. I imagine some of the local Baptist churches can muster more than 250 volunteers.
:-)
Correct.
God bless the Redneck Air Force.
