More Idahoans under the age of 30 have registered to vote in the past month than any other age group, according to the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office. Between Sept. 3 and Oct. 3, 2024, over 25,000 people registered to vote, with 38%, or 9,400 people, between ages 18-29. This continues a trend observed in recent months.
When Biden announced his withdrawal July 21, within two days, 1,200 Idahoans had registered, and 518 were under age 30. ...after Taylor Swift endorsed Harris on Sept. 10, 3,440 Idahoans registered within two days. Many of these new voters, or 45% of them, were also under 30.
While there are 154,000 registered Idaho voters under age 30, the age group with the most registered voters continues to be Idaho’s seniors, or people between ages 60 to 74.
Registered voters by age:
This surge in young people registering to vote adds to the fact that voter registration numbers in Idaho are already outpacing those of the 2020 election. As of Oct. 4, Idaho had 1,042,000 registered voters, surpassing the 2020 registration totals at this point in the election cycle.
Idaho anticipates a record turnout in November. “...we expect Idahoans to register and vote in large numbers and anticipate surpassing the 2020 presidential registration numbers,” Carattini said.
Gabe Osterhout told the Sun that publishing data is a way to promote voter confidence and dispel misinformation about who is voting in Idaho elections. “That’s something people talk about a lot, ‘Oh, these Californians moving here,’” he said. When backed up by data, it was very clearly, the Californians moving here weren’t turning the state blue. In fact, three-fourths of them moving from California are Republican and are even turning the state more red.”

Trailer swiffer. Not your best source of valid info.
Sorry, I have no idea what you mean “Trailer swiffer. Not your best source of valid info.”
This is data from the Idaho Sec’y of State’s office that tracks registrations. They just reported the number of new registrations occurring after Harris was selected and after TS endorsed Harris.
The data did NOT come from Swift.
What don't you understand? The comment makes complete sense to me.
Everyone of those registrations should be gone over with a fine tooth comb. Many of them could be fake registration designed to produce illegal votes.
How many Newcomers have been settled in Idaho ?
That's been the case for a few years now. Earlier waves of Californians were indeed mostly Leftists. What's been happening the last few years is its mostly Leftugees giving up on Commiefornia and looking to move to America. Without Californian Leftugees, Ted Cruz would have lost to Fake Mexican, real Pendejo Beto O'Rourke a few years ago in Texas.
Very well said.
particularly the word before Beto.
Good point, especially because those registrants are college age and notorious for voting at home and away at college.
Doesn’t make sense to me either. Makes it sound like she’s the source
Witless Swift my be encouraging some to register to support the Commies, but a lot may realize that she represents how much damage Harris/Walz will do to this country. We are at a tipping point and both sides know it.
If they gave us the party they registered under we could probably get an idea of how they’ll vote. Why wasn’t that provided? It should certainly be available info.
No but her “informed” endorsement of kowmala did. 😊👍
It was strange that the author didn’t break registration down by party affiliation of all new registrants.
The author DID do that in the last paragraph about arriving Californians.
Michigan has many colleges and double voting is encouraged.
I saw that about arriving Californians. But if 20-somethings are registering, their party ID should be available also. And that was what the article was about, correct?
Curiously, it didn’t mention party declaration for the new young registrants. I’ll try to look that up tonight.
No way to know without an investigation.
OH the universities have actvive groups setting up booths to register students to vote.
