Vivek is probably the smartest person in the political landscape today. He has a great future. Being close friends with JD won’t hurt (except he won’t be JDs running mate in 2028 if he doesn’t move from Ohio).
Personally I think he would be a great Chief of Staff in order to better control who has access to Trump and guide implementation of change needed to MAGA.
